They were calling from accident help line. Said that someone at my number was involved in an accident, and asked if I was involved in a accident. What type of scam is this??

Update on these shonky scammers from "Sydney" ??? Definitely a large call centre somewhere. Was past to 2 different supervisors who prompted me to exaggerate my injuries. Then 2 more calls from mobiles from Sub Continent accented callers. Then finally a call from 0415 226 111 from an Oz accented - Brian Gorman from Gorman Law in Sydney. When I said I had concerns about the way he was doing business he gave me the phone number of his law firm (02) 9279 1500. I will contact them and discuss their work ethics.

Thank goodness I let it ring thru then *10# to see who'd rung. Home phone now off the hook again; am so sick of scammers. So much for the Do Not Call Register.

They keep calling me at work. Luckily I can see the incoming phone number and know that it's them so I don't answer. They never leave a message but they call at least once a week even though they've been asked in the past not to.

Got a call this morning to our private number so it's definitely from an overseas scammer. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a msg. Being a private number we don't get any nuisance calls from within Oz but I know that even with do not call register which only applies from calls within Oz the overseas scammers divert their original via an oz number. It sucks. Sick of the scammers getting access to our paid for private number.

Received about 20 calls to different staff extensions at work yesterday from (02) 8001 2500 and it has already started today on (02) 8005 0035. The spiel is that they are calling because they have heard that someone has had an accident. This is super interesting that they are calling extensions as none of these numbers are listed. Anywhere. Half of the staff do not even know what their direct line is. Some deadbeat has sold a list of registered numbers from Telstra or Optus.

Received several incoming calls from (02) 8005 0034 and (02) 8005 0035 on my work desk contact phone number as well as several additional colleagues work extensions in the same office. Completely unprofessional questions from some insurance claims department stating they were looking for Leesa. The callers had very think Indian or ethnic accents and were hard to understand. A colleague had answered my desk work phone and was questioned as to what relationship they had with me. Seemed to be about insurance claim for a car accident in 2015. The (02) 8005 0035 number didn't seem to be registered or an existing phone number at all. When I called back the (02) 8005 0034 number rang out for several minutes with no answer. After several minutes I tried again and after a 2 minutes the call was answered by an Indian woman in a call centre. She had asked my name, I only gave "Leesa" said that I had been left a message by a work mate. She said she was from Common Law Claims and that the Australian Claims Register had forwarded my first name and work phone number and that I had had a car accident within the last 2 years and that it wasn't my fault. She then offered to assist me with getting compensation. I declined and ask her to remove all the phone numbers she had tried to contact me on as well as my name as it was completely unprofessional to call my workplace and question my colleagues. Hoping to not hear from them again.

Had a call from this number, heavy accent, stating was from Accident Claims Dept. Told him to get lost and hung up. Yet another scam.

Got three calls from that number, pretending that they got my number from the government claims data base. They are insistent and forceful; a real shame. Be cautious.

SCAM ALERT - do not provide any details to these people - hang up ASAP. They claim to be calling about an "accident claim." This is is not the first time this has happened - they refuse to provide any details about who they are and where they are calling from, which should ring alarm bells immediately. They only thing you should provide is some colourful language to them & then hang up!!

The scammers have rung many times this morning claiming that they knew someone here had had an accident in the last twelve months and wanting credit card f=details to pay compensation supposedly. All had accents from the sub continent. If this is coming from a sleazy ambulance chaser in Sydney as Ali (july12, 2016) discovered, he deserves to be struck off from legal practice.
