I received call this morning and want to verify my BOD. I didn't give any details over the phone but I believe they have some of my personal information. I rang Department of Finance and Deregulation and they told me that there is no Angelina Cooper working in their department. I didn't give my landline number to any government department to contact. Last month I have also received a call form Telstra on Sunday around 1 PM saying I have download movies through but they didn't know that I don't have Telstra connection. Don’t give your personal details over the phone to anyone and if they are calling from Government they call first of 13.. or 18.. Government Agency number to confirm first...

Thanks for this page. I typed in this given phone number on Google Search as I was very skeptical. I found this information. Fraudulent and I am a little worried that they had my name, address and D.O.B.

OMG i feel stupid!! I just confirmed to those scammers my address and gave them my account details.. They called again after I did a search on my account details and told them I am not interested and the Indian sounding guy, with a name of Sam Adams, told me to "F off". Should I be scared that they know my address?

Just received a call from the same number saying the Australian Tax department owe me money and asking me for my bank details, which I did not give out.

This is a scam. My mum just got called and almost fell for it. Someone needs to put a stop to this.

Got initial phone call - told them I wasn't interested. Then got next call, told them not to ring again - he said he can ring me "24/7 if he feels like it". Then rang 6 times. They rang again - I got a name "Christopher Duncan + Angelina Cooper. When I rang "Christopher" he put the phone down.

John called saying that he works for the "Reclaims Department of Australian Government"gave me a phone number to ring with a secret gov code Ph (02) 8003 7387 . Rang number got Angelina called advising of $5000 reclaim but needed me to bank $199 into a western union acc to recieve my $5000 Be afraid , very afraid they had all my details Address ,Phone number and Date of birth.Rang the Aust tax office to complain

Its a 100% scam,they buy a skype number with a stolen credit card to make it look like australian number. They sound like the people who do the windows scam.

Called to tell me I have a refund and to pls call them back. They had my name dob and address.

Same as all of the above, there must be something the authorities can do to stop these scammers.

'Jessica' has phoned me on 3 occasions. Impersonating Commonwealth government office staff. Says I m owed money- trying to get bank details.

"Jessica" from the fake and amusing "Reclaims Department of Australian Government". Hassling my wife when I'm not home saying they will give us $5000. Ask for her phone number and she will give this number. They have strong Filipino accents. I asked for her employee number and she hung up on me. Thieves and scammers.

Just had a similar call representing Federal Gov giving a refund for money overcharged on credit card when paying bills wanted money to get money Indian accent

Received call today, wanting bank acct details for refund of bank charges govt is going to refund. Asks to call back and confirm code with manager before refund is processed.
Funny when I do not have a bank acct.
Something needs to be done to stop these people wasting our time and accessing our details.
