A Scam! A blocked number called to tell us we'd won a holiday through some voucher scheme. The cost of the 7 vouchers would be $189. The caller provider what could only be a false voucher number and could not identify the location that the voucher was submitted. When told of the unwelcome nature of his (criminal) call he became hostile and called me a son of a bitch. I hung up, he called me back repeatedly, I told him to stop calling. He told me there was nothing I could do to stop him and was quite hostile. He identified himself as Xavier Samuels from BlueSaver. I googled BlueSaver and called their contact number to lodge a complaint. The person who answered (Robin) indicated that the phone call with the said Xavier had been recorded. There was no intial disclosure of intent to record the call. This is a clear breach of the privacy act. Have called the local police who suggested Scamwatch who in turn suggested calling our telco. As I close off on this message, he is still calling.. and yes, we are on the do not call list.
