I just got a call exactly like that. I wanted a number to call back then they left a strange number that they couldn't even confirm second time. The voice was also very acting - in an very urgent manner.

I have just been contacted by phone by a Justin Bradshaw from an Indian Company who say that they are representative of Microsoft Windows and that they are receiving “Error” & “Warning” messages from my computer.
They asked me to open my computer and check my “Event Viewer” to show me all the warnings and messages.
They then comment on the speed of my computer and ask which software I am using for Malware & Viruses.

They are asking me to check their credentials and they steer me to a website:

http://www.gitt.com.au/

They want me to give them access to my computer and say they will help sort this out.
I also asked them about the cost, the reply was “not to worry about money” and that they would fix my computer this time for free but then there would be a “1 off charge”

I asked them to give me their phone number and that I would call them back
They gave me this number – (02) 8005 0464 (also (02) 8003 5397/">(02) 8003 5397)
After I hung up I googled their name:- Global IT Technologies

This is one of the warnings I found.

http://www.reverseaustralia.com/lookup/(02) 8003 5397/

I then rang my IT advisor who confirmed that it is a Scam and that they are voracious at the moment.
His Advice was
o Ask them to give you the IP address of your computer, their response will be that they are not able to do this as it is in their Head Office
o Do not let them have access to your computer!!

Had a call from a Sean Lee with a very Indian accent today. He told me his company worked for Microsoft and had shown that it was running slowly. He asked me to go to the control panel and choose settings. I said why should I trust him when he'd just rung me out of the blue so he gave me the company name of www.globalittechnicians.com tel.no. 02035140065
and said when I'd checked them out on the internet he was sure I'd want to call him back for his help. I don't think so!

Like some of the other people who have commented I too appear to have been scammed. Rose was also the person whose name was 'used'. was ubder pressure in my own office at the same time they phoned (I spoke to more than one person) as well trying to get outside work done on the farm just prior to dark and getting the evening meal ready. Any futurre any calls at that time of day will be be disregarded and I will be asking them to call back at a more suitable time.

We too have just had a call from "The Consult PC Experts", tried to have me believe that we had a serious infection on our computer and he was calling from Microsoft ...... I find it very unlikely that Microsoft would do such a thing. When I challenged him and asked how he got my number he wouldn't give me a direct answer, when I asked if I could call him back he refused. He was certainly persistant, eneded up putting the phone down.

smugapplemacfan !

These Plonkers !!have fun when they call ...., This is my 4th time with them , each time I keep them busy for longer " re boot " crash ' shut down so I'll boot up etc etc etc I had a lovely time for 30 mins , playing them along with my " windows / mac" but told them i was running windows ( in parallel) so after I was passed to a supervisor  clearly I was a sap falling for the scam ?  as if !    who must have asked me to press windows key and R about 30 times It was great fun if you dont have deadlines , I  kept looping around this mythical operating system (windows) till I got bored , eventually I told him I had a little logo on screen a smiley face (and  the apple logo )  and  why would my Mac let me down like this ?penny still didnt drop , so 5th time around I think he finally got the message , which is  if you dont want scammers invading your computer , buy a mac , they're pretty much, bomb proof !Good luck PC folk   Mr Gates has a lot to answer for , still he did have the wit to  make a poor copy of the apple operating system .. "we're all doomed"   Dont give em control of your PC they are hard enough to run at the best of times .love smugapplefan! They gave the  address as 221 bow road london>

Deb

The same thing happened to me. Almost word for word. 1st time I listened but felt it was dodgy as I have mostly apple products. 2nd time I told them that I knew it was a scam. And the final time I blew a whistle so loudly in their ear that Im guessing they wont be hearing anything much for a few day.

I too had the same call twice in 2 days time.the guy claimed to be from the customer service of microsoft office located in sydney. After the frst call he conviced me that my computer had some problem and I need to buy  the socurity protection form them it costs $399 for the lifetime warranty.Luckily my husband  came home that time and he found something suspecious.I told him that I will think about it and will call him back.He provided me this no (02) 8003 5397.The next day he called me again to check my decision and I told him"" i am not interested"" . That idiot told that he is going to email the headoffice of microsoft  in Newyork to stop all the technical support and my compuer wil crush down soon.
