Caller: Anna Same scenario as above - wanted me to run a program to fix an internet problem - multiple users using my connection to download data. (My computer does not use WIFI - I'm hard wired) Pakistan/Indian accent ("Anna") - number calling was a Bendigo number (03) 5432 0838 but the number she gave me to call back on was the (02) 8003 5157 number. Sounded suspicious to me so I ran my anti virus software and searched the number to find above comments. Thanks guys.

Total scam . Left the above number in a text message claiming to be from ING Bank. Asked for credit card details for a bogus payment to an unknown person.

Caller: Scam Call Same as others have stated. Received a call on my grandad's mobile (from a private number) claiming to be Telstra and that his internet network was not secure and that they have been receiving error messages for the past couple of days. Told them no-one has even used the network in those days. They offered to show me how to find the errors. I asked their name and number (02) 8003 5157) and said I will call them back. I didn't. I know a scammer when I hear one.

Caller: "Anna" Call displayed number (02) 8509 2587, but nothing in here under that number (yet). Said she was from Optus Tech Dept and that there were a number of overseas IP addresses accessing my computer. Asked why she was calling from Optus, she said because "we ran the report" and it was "a courtesy". I said I think it's a scam call but she insisted it wasn't and gave me this number in this way "02800 35157" and insisted I call it and ask for her "Anna". I asked her to answer just one more question before I do that: if she knew of a website called "Reverse Australia". She hung up on me without another breath. Where's Joe Lycett when you need him?

As said already, these people want to get access to your PC - don't do it.
