Caller: Claimed to be from NBN co They rang and tried to arrange an appointment to install NBN modem, used Mark Wilson as the technician and gave me the Helpline number for the real NBN co, asked me to write down and repeat job numbers and modem serial numbers, seemed legitamate knew my name and address but wanted a small payment of $4.95 postage. They nearly got me as I am expecting to be be connected any day but baulked when she wanted a credit card or direct depost, they are fishing for info to create a false ID etc. When I confronted the caller and said it sounded like a scam, she became very loud and urgent so I hung up. They tried to call back four or five times using different numbers so I let them go to message bank, they did not leave a message.

Got the same call saying from Telstra his name was Mark Wilson and said my internet was compromised. Once I said I’ll call Telstra myself, he proceeded to tell me his employee number. I said this is a scam & then he hung up 🤷🏻♀️

Standard scammer fare......I answered the call and it sounded like it was being made in a busy call centre. Nobody spoke and it disconnected after ten seconds. I looked the number up here and it definaely sounds like a scam.

Caller: Allegedly Amazon Prime The lady asked if I wished to cancel my Amazon Prime account otherwise a fee of $189 would be debited to my account. As I didn't have a Prime acct she continued to say that our phone number was linked to a Prime acct. I asked her where she was ringing from replying that she was from Amazon Prime. I asked if she was calling from Australia as tge number is an Aust. no. Yes, she said. She insisted that I must have an account for the number she rang me on was linked to the Prime acct. Not being sure whether my husband had a Prime account she persisted asking me to go to his computer and she would walk me through. No, thank you. I just hung up. Later I rang the number back using a prefix before it to hide my number. A male recorded voice said that their line was busy but to go to a citizens' website in UK for more information! I didn't catch the full website. Certainly a scam.

Caller: Male with Indian accent Told me my account had been hacked $2600. I don’t even have that in the bank. Wanted to know if I did phone or internet banking. I said none of these. He asked how I check my bank. I said I have statements sent out. He then disconnected the call.

I just had the same as you. The female was hopeless. Wanted me to put my mobile on handsfree and follow her directions. I said "no", not going to input stuff that a hacker wants me to type in. She seemed taken aback that I "called her out" so bluntly, ... but still tried to reel off her speel. I ended up hanginging up, ... but she insisted I accessed my internet from my mobile, which I rarely do. Sometimes you just gotta use these twits as entertainment, before terminating their call.
