Missed the call. Called the number back and a recorded message said this number has been disconnected due to suspected fraudulent activity.

Computer programs generate bogus call ID numbers, theyre not in anyway conencted to a number. They are spoofing the exchange system into accepting the number they are presenting is legit. They use VoIP computers to call, they dont have an actual phone nimber

I hang up at this point every time (different number each time) - each one blocked

Another call of this type they are from a charity collection agency and want donations - but beware - similar mobs want your bank account details for the donation and a continual donation by what they say is a periodical deduction (that is if they leave any money in the account).These calls obviously can lead to scams

Some bloke with a foreign accent, Indian or something similar, asking me for my tax file number, recons I owe the Government money and he made threats of arrest, so I told him to F*ck off when you call this number back you get out of order message which tells me they have access to phone numbers which don't exist and are using them somehow to call people

I'm in WA and getting an NSW 02 call just before 7pm WA local just screams of bogus BS call. Call went unanswered as my system requires a keypress to actually ring through.

So my question is how is it that I got this number meaning he can still dial out yet it has been disconnected, obviously it hasn’t. I thought once the number is disconnected they can’t dial out.

In my absence another call from this number. No message left.

Answered the call, caller hangs up. I return call and recorded message says number has been disconnected due to suspected or actual fraudulent activity. But how does disconnected number keep making calls?
