Caller: ATO - At least that's who they claimed to be

A NSW number called me today claiming I have debt owing on my tax returns. I have had some issues with accountants and organising recent tax returns but these were lodged earlier this year. It was a robocall and wouldn't put me through when I selected talk to a person and upon re-dialling it was stated "this number is not connected".

As it was a NSW number and Ive recently had issues with the ATO it seems plausible it's a genuine call, however there were no departments to speak to and the "this number is not connected" makes me think it could be illegitimate.
