Caller: ATO

Got a call yesterday whilst shopping recorded male voice from the Ato informing me of owing a debt and tax evasion to press 1 to talk to a consultant. I did press 1 but line was busy was on hold. Suspicious I hung up and called the number again and it went to actual Ato phone line? Weird googled number saw many complaints about number. What is government and ato doing about this scam using a government number?

Automated message saying they were from the ATO and wanted me to press 1 to connect and resolve the issues. This is a scam call! ATO will never call you.

Called didn’t leave message, I was on phone at time they called. I always check numbers that call my phone that I don’t recognise and say the comments.

Received a call form this number with a recorded voice saying i needed to press 1 to avoid immediate arrest over tax violations. i hung up and Googles the number. I know the ATO would never do something like this, plus i have no tax issues.
Do not beleive this hoax!

I received a call from (02) 6216 1111, today 22 October, supposedly from the ATO for a violation of my tax.
I hung up immediately and rang my Tax Accountant.
I was told to check the number in Google.

A male voice saying that I'll be arrested for income TAX overdue. I told the person that I didn't have a job for over 20 years, because of injuries. He hung up immediately.

Received a call from a private number 18 October 2018 on my mobile yesterday.
Today I received a call on my landline (02 )62161111 .Looked up the internet and realised it's online scammers according to your information.If you don't recognise the phone number don't answer it. ATO Scammers.

robot voice telling me I was going to be arrested for tax fraud, very bad robot voice sounded terrible.

I just received a call from (02) 6216 1111 but I was on the phone at work so didn't answer. I wouldn't have answered even if I wasn't on another call. I checked the number and found all these messages. I have now blocked the number.

Yep, just got a call from the (02) 6216 1111 number which I didn’t answer, and yesterday I got a call with a voice recording stating to be from the ATO which I instantly hung up on. Jerks need a smack up the side of the head!

I never answer call if they are not in my phonr contacts then I look here and I blocked forever thanks for this site.

I just got a call as well. Luckily I was at a meeting. Bloody retards!! Can someone trace the phone number and put a stop to this SCAM!!

I got call from same number yesterday. These scammer are still alive and doing the same fraud. Wonder how the number is still not blocked or no actions are yet taken on these frauds

Australian taxation office called me and told me I have penalty need to be paid. I am so worry now.

Usually these calls go through to my landline but got one on mobile today

Received a recorded message claiming from the Taxation office. Male voice purporting to be from ATO and that I had income tax violation reported.

Got a male British? voice recorded msg from the Ato sounded very serious and urgent as claimed I'm wanted for tax evasion. To press 1 after the voice msg to talk to someone but it went on hold so I hung up. I was suspicious and glad to have googled the number and found all these comments and info online about this scam call. I also received a phone call from an unknown number from Latvia. Scammers going out these days! Beware do not answer calls from overseas numbers if you are not expecting it! Wangiri scam!
