I too received a voicemail from 'Sargeant Matthew Clark from the ATO'. Advised I must call back as there was a lawsuit filed on my name. Tried to return the call and it wouldn't transmit... very dodgy!

Received this automated voice message saying that it is from the ato and a law suit has been filed against me so to call back.

SCAM - Recorded message claiming to be the ATO and telling me of a lawsuit. Not real.

Also got an ATO call, from Michael Clark with strong accent almost didn't understand what was said. Got me scared to my bones :-)

A total scam. A recorded message from "the ATO" about a law suit filed against me. Considering my accountant is the contact for the ATO, they wouldn't be calling me directly but instead would send something in writing to my accountant if this was true - which it's not.

SCAM! Left a msg on my husband's phone. From the "ATO" and he has a law suit against his name.

Got a call wanted to know my criminal later details. Claimed to be calling from ATO with regards to tax evasion law suit resulting in an arrest warrant if I don't settle the outstanding amount 5000$.

Had my previous address details.

Rang up ATO and got confirmation that it was a scam and filed a report.

Got a call just now, weird recorded voice. ATO tells me it's a scam and that they have been having lots of calls about this in the last few days.

I got the same call and put it on speaker for the rest of my team to listen too ... Funny stuff Mr ROBOT works for the ATO it seems

How do they get our details?

ATO scam. Message left by a guy with foreign accent (not computer generated for a change). Block and disregard. Don't call them back as it a) makes your number more interesting to this scum and b) they get a chance to record your voice.

I just received an automated phone call claiming to be ATO that I am being sued and not to disregard the call. I blocked the number. This is annoying.

Scam call from someone claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office.

Scam!!!!!! They will leave you a message claiming to be from the ATO do not respond and make sure to block their number.

Apparently ATO officer saying there is a criminal matter. Since when has the ATO moved its office to India... make it less obvious dummies.

I got that call today as well. definitely a scam. I'm gonna report this to Scam Watch as well.

Yes got this call and an Officer Matthew Clark (who did not sound like a clark more like a speedy gonzalos) from the Australian Tax Office said do not ignore this call because I have a lawsuit filed against me and his "hotline number" was (02) 6176 1800. The fact that someone from the ATO is calling about a lawsuit gave it away.

SCAM ... got a call with a recorded message, saying do not disregard this message, a lawsuit has been filed against you!
