Claimed to be from the tax office threatening court action if I don't ring back

Caller: Supposedly ATO

Got one of these calls a week or so back. Initially an auto call with a robot voice. Followed the instructions (just as a matter of interest) and got put through to a "real" person. When I said what I was (supposedly) ringing for the voice on the other end asked me for my details (name, address, DoB, TFN). I said that seeing you rang me then you should already have all those details. Answer back was "if you're not forthcoming with the required details you will be reported to the Federal Police and an arrest warrant will be issued. I figured I had had enough fun so I told the person on the other end to "get a real job" and then hung up.

This is a scam call purportedly from the ATO threatening arrest etc. if you don't call back. The voice sounds like an American robocall.

Was an automated message claiming if I didn’t ring back there would be a warrant for my arrest and I would be taken to federal court

A voicemail message was left on my mobile phone. Obviously a scam as the voice was American female automated threatening me with arrest etc. Stupid since I have been a full pensioner for ages.
Went onto ATO website to check 'scams' but they don't seem interested in phone numbers used. Weird. The AFP should be chasing these numbers up and getting them shut down.

Claimed to be ato, apparently have an arrest warrent out for my fake name I gave them, as soon as you say you know someone who works for the real ATO they hang up😂

I USE LAND LINE TO CALL BACK. A GUY SAID IT IS AUSTRALIAN TAXATION OFFICE. IF I WANT TO CLERIFY INFORMATION, NEED TO GIVE HIM INFORMATION SUCH AS MY NAME, TFN ETC.

A scam about being arrested for tax fraud, the voice was North American which signals an issue straight away
