automated voice message that being put under surveillance by ATO. clearly a scam, have blocked the number

(02) 6169 1099 called me regarding my house under survelliance and tax fraud.

I spoke to this person, telling me the ATO had files a fraud case against me.

I told them I had no knowledge of this, and I would speak to my advisors.

They followed up by saying, "Go f*ck yourself, you motherf*cker".

Then they hung up.

Received a voicemail from this number - computerized voice stating I had an affidavit against my name and my house was under surveillance, stated that I needed to call back immediately or face legal prosecution.

Definitely a scam.

Just had a call from this number with someone trying to pretend I am being investigated for tax fraud and I am the prime suspect in the case. My affairs are all up to date with the ATO. When I tasked for a reference number he said he was unable to provide that information until I verified who I was, I toLe him without a reference number I have nothing to talk to him about. He told me that I should get ready to be arrested. lol, clearly a scam!

I got the same call and i have just reported to the ATO via their Scam Reporting phone number, maybe you should do the same. The number is 1800 008 540.

I made the mistake of calling them back and gave them my name... Oh no now I am really worried about what damage they could do.
He had an arrogant Indian accent and when I would not reply to his questions he told me to simply "hang up and wait for the cops"

Got a similar call. Beginning of message cut off where it was from, last word "office". Computerised female voice saying an affidavit had been issued against our name and the house was now under surveillance and we must call back the number immediately.

Scam it is.

same, got the call. Spoke to a male said his name was Xavier KING. I told him to go and do evil things to himself, he didnt like that, just a scam, tell them to piss off

Ridiculous scam call similar to what Wil reported. Spoken in a nice Australian accent.

Probably a scam. Answering service when called back telling you aferdavatt and that your house will be monitered.

This number is being used by scammers pretending to be either police officers or director of public prosecutors offices. If you call them out and tell them you have reported the number to the police they start swearing and hangup on you.

When I told him that and then laughed down the phone he told me in a thick Indian accent that I should get ready to be arrested. Then he hung up. I would recommend answering the call. Its quite amusing screwing with these guys.
