This woman's voice, possibly computerised, claimed that the "Legal Dept of the ATO" had my house under surveillance and that and affidavit had been received against my name. That I "must not ignore this call" and call them back immediately. Clearly a scam by some scum-sucking ground dwelling slime buckets.
I have dealt with the ATO on legal matters and that is not how they operate. They would simply call or send a letter, and they're always very polite.
JUST BLOCK THE CALLER, don't call them back! IF you're still worried, call the ATO on their official number and ask if there are any issues.

I just got a call from this number. It went to message bank. The front part of the message was cut off because they clearly are just paying a recording. It was recorded message claiming that an affidavit had been issued for my arrest and my house is under surveillance. Clearly a fraudulent phone call. Why the government doesn't do something about these calls is beyond me.

Indian accent "fraud department" bit sus really,... tried to call again seveal times nobody answered.

I received same message (automated call saying that you're under investigation from the ATO, they've had an affidavit against you, and your house is under surveillance.) from (02) 6169 1054 - when I googled it this thread came up. How disgusting. Blocked!!

Got the call just now, apparently my house is under surveillance blah blah blah. I called them back for sh*ts and gigs and the guy wasn't very happy. Told them they can post me any docs if they've got them and hung up!

So is this just a scam? It's very scary actually, I felt afraid receiving it.

Saw their message claiming I was the primary suspect in an ATO case and an affidavit had been issued etc. Calling back to say they didn't sound like the ATO and laughing resulted in them hanging up. Amusing.

Australian Tax Office Fraud these callers are not genuine and the matter occurred with me I have since reported it to the ATO who have confirmed it is fraudulent and the police are aware of the matter

They rang me and also left a message. The same as the one to Wil. Obviously a scam as mentioned in the earlier comments. This is a handy website.

same here, affidavit, watching my house, and that I should call back. I called indian bloke answered asking for my name, in response I asked what this was about and he said "If you dont wish to give your details then don't call back" and hung up.. obviously a scam of sorts, I'd love to know how they manage to get our numbers...

I received a call fro this number, claiming they were investigating ATO Fraud. Whe I said i had googled the number they hung up.

Took this call today. As soon as it was over I called the ATO Scam Hotline (found here https://www.ato.gov.au/general/online-services/online-security/ ) and reported it. The chap on the line there hadn't heard this one before, and judging by the dates above, it's fairly new. If you get a call from these grubs, make sure you report it to the ATO so the feds can do something to stop it before a widow loses her life savings :'(

A message from this number was left on my phone saying I was under surveillance at my house as someone had sent an affidavit to ATO. They tried to call again this morning . Can't the govt do something about this?

Very alarming call saying that my house was under surveillance and that I could be arrested. If my elderly mother had received this I think it would have given her a heart attack.
