I received this too, stating similar and giving a name of Officer Mark Brown - I believe this is a scam as the ATO would never leave such a message. ATO would write a letter etc. I'm ignoring this and the scammer's call back no given is (02) 6152 8693.

Same as above. "Officer Mark Brown" called about 1pm Thursday 1 October 2015, claimed he was from the Australian Tax Office, and that legal action was pending if I didn't return the call. Couldn't leave the details in the phone message, but I needed to call or legal action would commence. I suspect the only thing "Brown" about this criminal was his skin.... Nigerian scammers.....

left a message with a stupid accent saying he was "mark brown" from the ATO YEAH pull the other one (02) 6152 8693

had a similar call about 6 weeks ago, where they left three aggressive messages. Sadly some elderly people have been falling for it
