Sorry guys i dont have caller id and the phone number i put this under mighnt be THE number that called me but was the number the automated message said to ring and quote some BS number invoice reference something.

Look i received a message that repeated 3 times very long and it said press 1 if your receiving centrelink payments and 2 if your not. i assume that covers working and non working people different message each number i pressed 1 being unemployed and it told me an increase in centrelink benefits quote some number to the phone number (02) 6152 8678 so going by the mrs Smith report 8 days ago.
If i pressed 2 THIS IS MY GUESS. It would probably say its the tax office and some refund maybe and quote a similar number probably both lead up to asking for money when you ring the number THIS IS ONLY A GUESS I AM NOT PAYING TO BE SCAMED AND REFUSE TO RING THAT NUMBER. So basically watch out for this automated message IT COULD be a scam. Its worded in the number 1 area as being from centrelink which could in itself be illegal to claim to be a governmental body but i dont know.

DO NOT ANSWER OR CALL BACK ANYONE LEAVING YOU A MESSAGE OR SAYING THEY ARE FROM THE TAX OFFICE. THE ABOVE NUMBER IS THE ONE THEY USED AND IS NOW DISCONNECTED.

THEY WILL THREATEN TO HAVE THE POLICE AT YOUR HOUSE. IT IS A SCAM!!!!

TELL THEM YOU WANT A LAWYER AND TO SEND THE POLICE AND THEY WILL HANG UP IMMEDIATELY. DON'T FALL FOR IT.

This is a scam. The ATO NEVER leaves computerised messages saying you're going to be prosecuted.

Claims he is from Taxation Department and that I have committed serious taxation fraud and a warrant is out for my arrest. I played along with him all day/night and had fun recording all the conversation We all are having a good laugh at the idiot

I have been called repeatedly from this number "This is an automated ..." The voice is male and British sounding and says it is the Tax Office blah blah blah. It's a total scam (I checked with the ATO just to be sure).

I have received many phone calls from them it says there are some overdue TAX payments.I thought it is spam .

100% Scam. Call from this number with an Indian sounding voice purporting to be from the ATO. For the fun of it I called the number back and found myself talking to an Indian sounding voice asking me if I was calling to apply for the job with the Immigration dept.

Seems to be the same person as at (02) 6188 5669 - computer generated message about some lawsuit

This number has been ringing my mobile and saying "good-bye "after 3 days of this I got another number ringing me at 7.48pm and a recorded message saying they were from the Australian Tax Office and they had been trying to get me days as I had a Tax Debt and to follow instructions or a debt collecer will arrive at my address with in 48 hours".The number the second call rang from was (02) 6188 5646.The number above is used to show your number is Connected.Rang ATO and they said they NEVER ring and only send letters .This is a SCAM do not reply.

I work at a law firm so when they called me today n asked for my birthdate because 'a claim had been made against me!', I said 'I don't think that's true. I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure I would find out in a different manner if that we're true' and, as the person got irritated, I hung up. Believe it is a scam
