Left voice mail message saying they were from the Australian Tax Office and that legal action had been taken out in my name (no name was given) for tax evasion and fraud.
This phone number given to return their call immediately.
ATO informed, and they stated it was a scam and that they would be after the tax file number.... Do not respond to this call, and report immediately.

Same message from Niki Johnson as others listed on this site. Must be very frightening for older people to receive these threats.

Again, same in WA Perth, person with Nicki Johnson name left message this morning , phone number 026152675, and that they were from the Australian Tax Office. Scam.... thank you guys

Came home Friday 5.6.15 to find a message on my answering machine:- "Mam [no name mentioned] I am calling you from The Australian Taxation office representing Commonwealth Public Prosecutions office in Canberra to advise you that legal action has been taken out against you for Tax evasion and wilful fraud. I want you or your attorney to call back on (02) 6152 8675. Do not disregard this message, do? call back on (02) 6152 8675". I called the number, although suspicious, as I wanted to find out what this call was about. I felt sick and worried, thinking there must have been some internal admin error, [I was thinking surely a government agency would correspond in writing not phone you] but I wasn't sure, so I did ring back, not a usual ring tone, clunked as if being diverted somewhere else via exchange. No answer, but I initially thought that was due to Pert/Sydney time difference, as it was 4pm Perth time. Have since googled the telephone number and found these posts. A big thank you to all those great people out there that took the time to share this info. I am now just a bit worried that they might have connected to my telephone account and be running my bill up, does anyone know if that is possible?

I then instantly get a text from CRAZYWINNER stating `Karen, 20 FREE SPINS ON (current scam) are available to CLAIM in your giftbox at CrazyWinners.com or OPT-OUT http://tx.vc/o/42158. Not game to click on either link as I've heard that can get you subscribed.

Same automated call left on my answering machine this morning - shame I wasn't available to take call, as I would have told them to eff off! And after saying that I shouldn't ignore the call and that action would be taken against me, signed off with "goodbye and take care! Bizarre.

same ATO's computerized phone call.. didn't bother to call back..hahaha... I am accountant... by this time i know how exactly ATO works... no way they would call you for serious matter and not give you any notice...

19/8/15...I'm from NSW and Well it's still happening we have received 3 separate calls in the last week. All threatening us with legal action, warrant for our arrest and surveillance of our address. Call no1 Nicky Johnson 036107938 - call no2 Ron Watson (02) 6188 5610 - call no3 Dept Public Prosecutions (03) 6107 9616.
My question is why are our big phone company allowing this to happen. Everyone seems to be getting a different ph no. to ring back on. How can they be getting away with this. I was pissed when I was threatened with an execution of arrest warrant by recorded voice of 'DPP' but hung up cursing knowing it was a scam. Needs to stop.

Just got the same message as a few other on here.
Sounded dodgy so did a google check, ditto to Judy from Perth, thanks for those posting when this happens, it is so much easier to rest easy when you see a heap of complaints about this dodgy number.

this person rings twice a week using multiple numbers, so you can't block them. they are trying to get me to purchase credits for a slot game site named CRAZY WINNERS. You cannot unsubscribe from notifications or calls because the website links do not work
