Threatening message received supposedly from the tax office and requesting a call back or legal action would be taken

I had this same call Tuesday 2nd June. I'm an ages pensioner and thought it was threatening. Robbie king

Same message as stated in other posts. I hope Robbie reads these posts and realises what a moron he is. I have an accountant dealing with my tax return and I contacted the ATO ages ago about my tax circumstances this year. There is no way the ATO is suing me for tax evasion! In fact, I'm owed a fair tax return this year--LOL!!! I hope this scam is busted and penalised to the full extent of the law.

I've been getting phone calls from this guy too! Its a recorded message! Well he even says 'have a nice day and God bless you'. I mean which government department says messages like this! Its a bit of nuisance to even get a call like this, and how much money are they spending on making these calls! What a waste of time and money! I have reported to my phone service provider.

I had 2 missed calls on my answering machine on the 26 May from Robbie King saying I have legal action against me from the tax department in Canberra for tax evasion and tax fraud and I needed to call him back today urgently or face the consequences. The phone number he left was 026152874.

I got the same message left on Friday, I will call the ATO and informed them about this scam

Robbie of the strange accent also left a message claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office and threatening legal action if we (he didn't specify who he was actually addressing) or our Attorney(!) didn't call (02) 6152 8674 as soon as possible.

I had the same call about a week or so ago. It's definitely spam! I know someone who works in ATO and they told me ATO NEVER uses the term "ATO Headquarters" nor do they give out an 02 phone number, it's always their 13....... number! Just ignore these calls. Nothing will happen to you! :)

Robbie kindly left the ATO message today. Needs to try harder - his accent is all over the place. My wife took the message and phoned me in a bit of a state. Told her it was likely a scam and so it is. Phone version of GreenWinnick lawyers email which has been in my inbox a few times in the last 3 years. They wanted me to respond to a threat of legal action also.

Caller left a message on my answering machine telling me he was from the ATO and was taking legal action for tax evasion and fraud and I, or my "attorney" has to call back or I'll suffer the consequences. It would be amusing if it weren't for the fact that there are enough gullible and vulnerable people who'd be taken in by these criminals. Terrible accent. Tried to sound Australian.

just had a call from dodgy Robbie saying he was from ATO Headquarters and they have filed a legal petition against us! I feel for people who fall for this and do not realize it's a scam!

My 80yo mother had a call from Robbie threatening her with tax fraud.
I would like a couple of minutes with him and yes to a question above mum uses DODO as her ISP.

I had a message n my answer phone from this wannabe too. Robbie King, we have lodged a legal petition against me for tax fraud. Call by the end of the day or face the consequences. I'm going to call ATO tomorrow and inform them and hopefully they will put something on their site to warn people.

I had the same call. The guy is trying to so an Australian accent but you can clearly hear he is putting it on and is Asian. He warns that if you do not call him back by the end of today then legal action will be taken against you for tax fraud and evasion. It is all a crock of S@$T and he is scamming for details and money. Stay away.
