This phone number is a scam. They say their sending someone out to arrest you and begin with court proceedings to reclaim none paid taxes. Please be aware of this number and tell your relatives & friends.

Got a message on my answering machine today from (02) 6152 8644 saying - " This is Jeffrey Morgan from Australian Taxation Office and tax evasion and they had launched legal action against me for tax evasion. I had to call back immediately, as this was a time sensitive matter and needs your utmost attention, you or your attorney need to call us back.Do not disreguard this message and call us back immediately." It was an American sounding voice. They did not stipulate a name as to who in the household this was in reguard too' - right there I thought this message was odd. Anyway I rang back just to see what they were after and an Asian sounding person answered the call but they just said "hello" like a home phone answer not a business (but then sounded very dodgy as they kept mumbling and pausing) then vaguely suggested that the person I was calling for had stepped out and to call back in 10 minutes. BEWARE SCAM SCAM SCAM people like this sicken me to my stomach. As individuals do fall for this sort of thing. I'm going to ring back to get what ever payment options they offer and report it to -https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam directly. Anyone contacted via these scum find out the same information and report it maybe they might be able to track these 'insults to the human race' and catch them !!!!! DAMN SAD PPL ARE SUCH LOW LIFE SCUM BAGS :(

ATO Public Prosecutions? Sounds like a scam

Have had exact same message on mine today. Didn't need to come home to that.

I got a call on my answerphone from this scumbag last night. For a few moments there I was really concerned, then replayed the message and realized he didn't know who I was.Thanks for the messages confirming what I thought...scumbag

Now saying they have unclaimed money owing to me amounting to thousands of dollars.
PUT THE PHONE DOWN IF YOU GET THEIR CALL.

Their No now is (02) 6140 3470. With a bit of looking we may be able to trackem down thru billing within the telco's. Any idea's

I had message from Geoffrey Morgan saying he was ATO tax fraud & tax evasion, returned call Geoffrey wasn't in call back tomorrow after 9 am and your file is closed for today. The lady I spoke to had American sounding voice. I then rang my accountant he said there were some funny things going around and was going to ring the number and will get back to me

We too had a call from Geoffery Morgan (02) 6152 8644 it sounds very official, but I know all about this scam.

Scam, Scam Scam, be aware!

I received a call three months ago same content warrant legal proceedings re fraud tax evasion as I hadn't committed either I readily told him to f#*k off and hung up. He had the cheek to ring back and say I OFFENDED him. Four weeks later same call. Same ending for Mr Morgan. Yesterday on my answering machine Mr Morgan again this dude is a recurring pain in the BUTT!!!!!!

I retrieved a call this morning 19th Aug 2015 - has to be a scam. If the ATO left such a threatening message, I would be taking them to court. If someone is going to make up a scam - please make it plausible. THIS IS JUST LAUGHABLE.

Had call as above. Very rude and persistent. Gave info to ato. Hope someone catches these ........ before they scare the living hell out of anyone else, or get any money from good folks.

Two similar messages in two days on the home phone. Both times they left a message for me to ring back urgently. the two telephone numbers are -
