Today i got another call from an OVERSEAS number accordingly to the telephone company trace and reporting service on 13 May.

It was the same recording of a male voice claiming to be the Australian Tax Office/Cwth Directors Public Prosecutors with false information claiming your legal issue that you have to hand over you TFN to a COMPLETE SCAMMER... but with a 'more urgent' accent to call back not just this number (02) 6145 2529 but another if you cross check with (02) 6140 3409.

The same SCAMMER but a different number to call back so you can hand over your TFN to a complete SCAMMER. The first caller was traced to a PRIVATE NUMBER ON 8 May.

Reported to ACCC on 8 May 2015 as i consider it an act of terrorism to steal peoples lives who are Australian to gain access with the intent to inflict harm and financial loss in order to terrorise.

Both messages from both the PRIVATE NUMBER and the OVERSEAS number where left as a recording. They are the SAME SCAMMERS using pple to call different numbers to obtain private information. Do not say a word, just report it all to a legitimate Australian Authorities.

Same guy has left message twice - ATO and CDPP are going to prosecute me because I haven't returned paperwork????

Somebody telling about some ATO related lawsuit, rang the number even though I thought it was garbage to begin with, which didn't even ring, just got the hang-up "beep beep" tone.

Sounds like a scam to me.

This is a scam... dont give them your TFN they are not the ATO.. too bad the telephone company has had the opportunity of tracing your call and its exact origin and it can be escalated to your very own federal police/court matter for being a con/addict.

From the CDPP Web Site...different number but same style...

Unsolicited phone calls have been reported to this Office by members of the public. Calls received claim to be from the Canberra Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP). The call appears to be a pre-recorded message requesting people to contact ‘the office on (02) 6100 3027 in relation to a tax fraud warrant’.

The calls are not from a member of the CDPP’s office and the number ‘(02) 6100 3027’ is not associated with the CDPP. These calls appear to be a scam being perpetrated on the public.

The matter has been referred to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and is now being investigated.

I got the same call I informed the ATO and they indicate it is a scam please contact the ATO they also asked to get as much information from the caller if you actually speak to anyone but I think its just an automated text sender

Got a message on my answering machine today, I don't think the ATO is after me either.

This is a scam. I don't think the ATO are going to prosecute me.
