I had the same message in my home phone, does not say a name only tax evasion and do not ignore the message

had the same individual ring my mothers phone number today with an American accent legal suit etc. rang the number but get a busy signal

Just had the same call, by an Indian sounding caller, saying "There is a serious case of Tax Evasion, have yourself or your attorney call back on this number (02) 6140 3474 .. "do not disregard this number"

(Just called my Tax agent.. and they said it probably is a scam, and if the ATO was contacting you, it would be through the mail system, not on a homeline)

Got a call today to my home number from the same number, with the same msg, called back had an Indian guy answer, I asked him what the situation was he then asked me for my home number then hang up..! I called back several times but no answer

Supposed to be from Tax Office/CDPP July 22 11.46am
Says that there is a case for Tax Evasion against me and to call back on (02) 6140 3474 urgently and not to ignore the call. Tried to call back as was requested more than once but line is "not connected, silent or busy tone"
I believe that it is some sort of scam but would have liked to abuse them for it.

I will be reporting this to the Police.

I received the same call on the 16/7/15, I tried calling back but just rings out.

Message with the persons name cut off at the start stating that the ATO had filed a law suit against me for tax evasion. Did not mention me by name at all. Wanted me to call this number.
