scam claiming to be department of immigration

Just got a call from this number. As my mobile was switched off it went straight to my voice mail. There was a message from a person Steve Marshall from the Department of Border Protection & Immigration. The message said that there is a complaint from my home country embassy. The accent was very strange and it did not make any sense. I am sure it is a SCAM. Beware all !

Received a similar call from this number. Asked him to call back later as i was too busy. Lets see what he does tomorrow.

Got a call from this number too saying immigration office, by listening to his accent I knew it straight away that it is a scam. i said I need more details and asked him his full number, email address and office address. He hung up the phone :)

Got a call from some Steve Marshall from Canberra who was trying hard to put up an accent. Rudely asked me take a paper and pen to take case num and asked not to interrupt while he is talking. Said I have got 3 serious allegations against me. I tried to be patient while he covers all but lost it in the middle as he was too slow and gave him a good piece of advice that he should stop scamming and if anything at all, should send me proper written documents and I will respond officially. Guess they only try to pay further if the person doesn't sounds confident. So please be careful and ask for written documentation as Gov would not make calls without giving a formal written document.

I have received call from number (02) 6140 3473, saying that from immigration & border protection department, Canberra.
Person name was Henry, and he said that there is an arrest warrant against me for violating immigration law and police will be searching for me in couple of hours.

I just checked this number on internet and found that it is SCAM phone call going around.

Scam number, introduced himself as "James" from the ATO, gave his "Officer ID", and advised that a complaint had been lodged against me.

Received a call from a guy who was extremely rude. He was asking me for some details and I said I need to sure that this is a genuine call and not a spam. he became aggressive and said I am warning you that you will be in trouble. He sounded like my Ex Wife :-D

I had a call from this number claiming to be from Immigration and Border Protection. He said I was illegally in Australia. And if I don't obey him the Federal Police will at my door in 20 minutes. He even said don't run away. Fraud

I got call twice today from this number and the person (Steve) said that i have got some issue from home country. Not sure which country he was talking about. He said that he is calling from Dept of immigration and need to follow some instruction and asked me to take out pen and paper.

When i told that i will verify this number, he was trying scaring me that the department will take action if i do not respond to his queries.

I got a call from another number and asked me to call back on (02) 6140 3478. When I called back, this guy claimed that he is from Immigration department and there is a case lodged against me. Initially he was not able to confirm if the case was against me, or my wife or my business. Then my second obvious question was "who has put the case against me?". I was told it was Australian Embassy in New Delhi. I told the guy that if he is working in immigration, he would have know that there is no Australian Embassy in New Delhi. Which he claimed there is one and after few rounds of yes and no, I explained him that there is an Australian High Commission but not an Embassy and if he is from immigration he should have known a difference between them. Lol... he got irritated and cut the line after threatening.

Now I am calling this number every few minutes to irritate them and to show how you feel when you get unwanted calls. I suggest all other to keep calling them again and again.

And of course, I will be informing police about their call too.

Martin Smith claiming to be from public prosecutor office stating there is a claim against me

Foreign accent lady claiming to be from Commonwealth director of public persecution and that a case had been lodged against us and that there is surveillance off our address. Called back number but always engaged.

A man with a foreign accent said he was "Officer Roy Wilson from the Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions." This person said there was a court case in my name for outstanding debts and that the ATO had a case of tax evasion against my name. I said I thought it was very strange to be receiving a call like this and that I hadn't received anything in the post and he hung up. I believe this is part of a scam.

went by the name martin smith he is from the central NSW area. said he was from the Australian tax office and wanted $5000 immediately or would send my wife to jail and threatened to have our child put in foster care. threatened that if she spoke to me she would go to jail and continued to lay threats every time my wife went to hang up.
reported to SA police. careful of this scumbag
