Received a number of calls claiming from ATO and I'm about to be arrested .. Ptfft Okay

Got a message on land line saying there was a petition against my name & legal action was to be taken. Caller didn't identify himself. Rang number - didn't ring, static for ages then someone speaking German started speaking. Rang ATO no such thing on my name. It is a big hoax but scared me.

Message left on work phone regarding legal action being taken & please ring (02) 6140 3471 for assistance regarding this

Left message and knew from the number it was a scam

This number called and left a message claiming to be someone from the tax office and that I was to contact them before legal action was taken. There is no reason for legal action to be taken. All my taxes are paid. The caller did not mention me or my husband by name. I'm thinking that all correspondence normally goes to my accountant, so this sounds like a scam. I called the ATO to check, but you can only get a computer. You cannot talk to a real person.

Yep, got the voicemail message. Had my heart racing just a bit.

Had a message left on my phone saying I was going to be arrested in Criminal court and legal action was going to be taken against me if I did not return call asap what a load of crap!!!

Had a voicemail message left on my home phone claiming to be the tax office and threatening legal action of some sort. Pretty sure that this is a scam since they did not mention my name and there is no reason for anyone to be taking legal action against me!
