This is a Scam - the lady from an overseas callcentra (redording) claims she is calling from the ATO. the number called from was (02) 6140 6411 (search and see other logs)
but requests you call her back on (02) 6100 8557 regarding a tax evasion. BE WARE.

Just another bunch of parasites trying to steal our money.

Definitely a scam. Male claiming to be from Australian Tax Office saying I am being investigated for tax fraud and tax evasion. When I didn't return the call I got a follow up recorded message from a female asking me to call back on (02) 6152 8615.

I got a voicemail about some affidavit and a tax ruling or some other bollocks. It's a total scam

A woman with an accent called saying that i have been evading tax. the first call was on tuesday 11.08.15, then i received an identical call with the same woman' voice on thursday, 13.08.15. i didn't pick the phone up and let my message bank take it. the number on my phone from where she rang from was (02) 6140 3411 and the number she said i should ring regarding the matter is (02) 6100 8557.

Had the same message left on my phone today, glad to see it is a scam.

A "Mr Smith" called my poor old dad from this number - told him he was under investigation from the ATO and that he owed $4000 - also that he was under survellance. I logged it on the Scamwatch website following advice from the Police assistance line.

This happened to me this morning! Very unnerving until I found out what was going on!! They followed up my call, as I stupidly called from my mobile, told them I had contacted police and reply was "be prepared to be arrested" Has really stuffed my day up!!!!!!!

Got the same call as Catherine twice in one day decided to try & track down Phone No as have been retired & on pension for 10 years & havent done a tax return for 7 years so i new i owed nothing came up with this blog . Very handy will warn all my friends.

Absolute scam - the local police were aware of it - pity the ATO and CDPP didn't put out a warning. Be careful threats of arrest, imprisonment etc made.

A scam call from (02) 6140 3411 claiming to be from CDPP told me to urgently phone (02) 6100 8557 before I was arrested by a state or territory policeman for tax evasion.

i got the same call yesterday, stating I was under investigation for tax evasion and that my house was under surveillance, and not to ignore the call, i rang the number back, and left a message, i then rang the Australian Taxation Office and listed the complaint, the lady who left the message had a strong Indian accent, but on their voice answering machine it was someone with an Australian accent. - the caller ID on my phone came up as a Private Number, although a SCAM, still is unnverving
