ATO scam.

ATO Tax scam. It ALWAYS is someone with an Indian accent on the other end trying to scam me. Once I played along and I was transferred three times and with each time, they evaluate how "serious" you thought it was and the english improved as we go higher up the chain.

Finally, they wanted me to go to Woolies and purchase iTunes gift cards... XD

tax scam- fraudulent call

Ato scam caller

Received a call saying they are from the Tax office and a arrest warrant has been issued.

Caller: Claimed to be the ATO but spoke with a US accent and used US syntax

Doubtless part of an attempt to frighten me, claiming I had a tax debt.

Caller: Woman Voice

Had a call from this number and the operator said that I was being investigate for tax evasion and I have to ring a number. I searched online and it showed it's a scam.

doesn't really sound believable, is a scam, i fear it may trick a small minority of people who aren't familiar with how the ATO enforces their rules etc.

Voice was automated as asks to call back, saves the scammers dialling any numbers etc.

I also fear this number may be used by an innocent part in a few years and they're just using this number for today or this week, i can see the previous comment noting this is a scam was from yesterday and these numbers can easily be hired for short periods.

The usual robotic voice, female, seems I've had an arrest warrant for tax fraud and avoidance....hmmm day was going so well.

Another fake ATO call - do not reply. they seem to have my name as well.

SCAM: American accent robocall saying I have an "illegal warrant" against me(?) Hmm, I'm a cop. And someone has *illegally* taken out a warrant against me. Not sure what that means. The first time they called today I missed the call, so they left a message to urgently call before the court issues a warrant. Just out of curiosity, I called back--all I could hear was a call centre-type noise in the background but no one answered.

I called back the number (02) 6100 7783 and the guy on the other line said I reached Coles Supermarket
