I had a call today from a person named Peter Maxwell claiming to be from the ATO. I knew straight away it was a fraudster, the worst part being I am a tax agent myself...so it was hell ridiculous!!

ATO scammer call. Said his name was Sean Patrick from ATO and they owed us money.

I have a message on my answering machine saying "Australian Federal Police, Detective Sergant Yowie Leave a message" and amazingly no message is left.!

I too got a call from officer Roy Cage. When he informed me that I owed the A T O approximately$9000.00 I was so grateful I offered to put him in a cage and perform a sex change operation on him free of charge, using a freshly sharpened chainsaw. he promptly hung up. I guess that was his way of saying no!

So, today I'm joining you in this scam ... strange to me that he, the name who game me was Roy Cage (or Keitch), had some bad/scam activities back in 2012 and then he is reappearing again in 2015 ... where has he been those 3 years? I hope in gail!
Anyway, as for some of you, he said he was from the ATO, specifically from a subdivision called Criminal Investigation Office, and that I have misbehaved with my taxes and that now I have a debt to cover. Only thing, UNFORTUNATELY, he was wrong with many of the details about me that I've suspected him, enquired him about all the conflicting information he was giving me and waited till the line dropped .. and it dropped quite quickly!

Just received a call from this number from an indian speaking man with an english name claiming to be from the Australian taxation office. When i told him i didn't believe he was from the ATO he said "so who the hell are you?" I swore at him and hung up. Just so happened he couldn't hear me correctly and gave me this number (02) 6100 3155 to call him back.

I received a phone call from t,. 6100 3155. Someone with african accent claimed that he is ATO manager Canberra.

When I asked his address and details of office Manager, he just hung up !

I am not registered with Centrlink and I do not get any payment from them.

My message was the same as message of 27th March 2012. Same names & a courier was delivering the same refund to me. All they asked me to do was go to local newsagency and buy a UKAHSS voucher for $199. When the courier arrived with my refund he would also give me my $199 back.

I was contacted by "Michael Johnson" who said that he was calling from the "Customer Care" section of ATO and that ATO had changed their system and now tax refunds were being hand delivered by courier!!!! He gave his telephone number as (02) 6100 3155 and wanted me to confirm my mailing address (which I didnt). He said that the courier, whose name was Mark Anderson, would be bringing me a cheque for $3265. It's so very interesting that all of these people have very heavily accented voices but they have such Aussie names ! I spoke to the real ATO and was told that it was probably an identity theft type of scam as well as looking for suckers to part with their money. Later in the day, I got a second call from "Michael Johnson" wanting me to confirm more personal information, so that "ATO courier Mark Anderson" could complete his assignment by delivering my tax refund cheque to me. They are persistant even though I gave them no personal details. It appears that they are looking to get as much personal info from these calls as they can. I told him that his calls had been reported to the Fraud Squad and that he was being investigated......... he didnt want to talk to me after that !!

I also got a call today that a person is visiting your home and they will handover a cheque for $ 3265/-. They said i have to pay $ 195 against account verification. I refused their offer. they simply hang up the phone.

i too am getting a tax refund of $3500 for being such a good tax paying citizen...ohh how sweet...NOT!

Yep, I was given this number for supervisor "Ray Martin" in the ATO tax fraud.

I'd just answered an identical call the previous day, so knew what to expect.

I did inform them that they were lying thieving mongrels preying on the unsuspecting, but he didn't like to hear that and hung up!

ATO scammer called Alex Johnson. Dont get sucked in!!!!!

Just received a call claiming they are from the ATO in Canberra, that their name is Ray Martin and that they owe me $3500~.

Notified the caller that I would be calling the real ATO to confirm the legitimacy and the caller hung up.

Was requested to call (02) 6100 3155, after being contacted from (02) 9418 8821. Claimed I was being refunded around $3500, which is very different to the amount I am expecting. Have notified ATO fraud department.
