Theses people left an electronic message (in American viice) on my answering machine saying that they were from the Australian Tax Agent Office, and claimed that they had an affidavit against me and that I was in a serious legal mess for tax fraud, that I should call back only when I had my attorney present, and that if I did not call back, they would forward my details to a 'local authority'. The wording/language is poor, and a dead giveaway for anyone with any sense, but they will undoubtedly scare some people.

Fraudulent message apparently from ATO in American accent. I am a tax agent & certainly do not have any issues to be concerned of. Dodgy number.

Received a scam threat from this number playing the role of ATO for legal affidavit and threatening legal action. I have not evaded tax and run all businesses through registered tax agent.

Recorded message with American accent saying it was the Australian Tax Office, they had an affidavit with my name on it and relating to tax fraud by me. I had to call the above number immediately. Idiots!
