It is clearly an offence to impersonate an officer of the ATO, so I have reported the matter to the Federal Police. I presume that "Kenneth" will be investigated.

Had three messages left by someone purporting to be Kennneth Matthews from the ATO legal dept about avoided tax etc. Scam. Called back and challenged them and they hung up.

Yet another fraud proclaiming to be the ATO - bloody twits - I'm a registered tax agent!!!

Received a call from this number today 14/08/2017 saying we had been done for tax fraud and to call back a Michael Anderson om (02) 6064 2023 and not to ignore the message and to call back urgently. Scammmmmmmmmmmmmmm be careful

They are still using this number to harrass people. How come these people never get shut down.

Missed call from this same number. My phone says its from Albury NSW. Glad I didn't answer!

This person rang from 'InterGroup Australia' regarding a survey however their english was not very good. Have reported it.

They left a msg on voicemail at 9.17am. Same msg left as everyone says by Kenneth Mathews. Someone in our home got the msg and rang back stressing out. I told them about this site and thankfully found all these complaints! Thank you everyone, this site is a great tool to help everyone not fall victim to these low lifes....

I received a call today (25/9/18). So nothing has been done about this so called ATO guy. what to do?

Apparently I have a mortgage and they wanted to 'assist' with some ready finance... Haven't had a mortgage in 15years *LOL* - told them I was renting :-)

An Indian trying to defraud money from hard working individuals. If you see this number don’t answer it. When the federal police find these people they should be shot.

When I call this number back, it says that Optus advised that this number has been disconnected. I have added this number to auto-reject. Can Optus or Telstra do anything to prevent scammers contacting good people of Australia and wasting our time and money? This needs to stop. I receive over 5 phone calls a day from scammers.

Missed a call from this number. No message left. Weird as ATO doesn’t normally call they put it in letters (official). I’m so sick of people trying to scam people for money. ESP when they target good people. Seriously scum of the earth and hope the feds set a task force on people like this to officially have them charged and sh*t down for good! Our telco’s should be doing more to protect our identities/numbers from getting in the hands of these scammers!

Thanks for the heads up guys. These ATO fraudsters must be pretty technically competent to evade the federal police follow-up. I always check strange numbers that wont leave messages here first. Regards.

I have received the same scam call today regarding ATO and fraud. I have recently applied for a rental property, Kenneth knew information that was only provided to the real estate agent...where is the link I wonder?

I have spoken to police link as I have received messages and a few calls as well so they have suggested I talk to my local station as they are investigating a fraud issue that my wife and I have become victims of
