they called my mobile and told me there was a complaint and I had to call a certain number

tax fraud better call him back before it goes to the federal court etc...

It was a scam. Used the name Alexander Lee. I contacted the ATO. They were keen to have complaints registered so that they could investigate.

This wanker claims to be from ATO. Nothing of the sort. Has a rolling lot of telephone numbers he uses to call. Dial #31# (02) 5306 2281, this will block your caller id. Then abuse the sh*t out of him. Worked for me.

Same again, recorded message about tax fraud.
Talked over the top of him and let him have it!

Dodgy scammer. Received a voice message from 'Alexander Lee' saying a complaint had been received about me concerning tax fraud and tax avoidance. Said that if I didn't call back, a warrant would be issued, and "please do not ignore this call". Imperfect English throughout. Hope this guy gets caught or at the least hope he's not getting money out of anyone...

what a bloody cheek! To try and frighten people enough to phone back and give out details that may cost you a fortune. I did phone back and asked for Alexander Lee but was told he was on the other line. The guy said tell me your name so I can get you up on the system. I told him that they were a bunch of f*cking thieves and liars and that I would report to the police and the guy was neither up no down about it. Checked number further and believe they operating out of the Maldives or somewhere like that so not fazed by the cops. Just wonder how they got my number?
