Collection House. Debt collector asking for money from an non existant account that never owed any money. Go figure. I Asked for a signed contract and they could not provide one. End of story.

Not fooling any one

Called quoting a real company name (Collection House) but has no real association with them. They will point you to the website as an intimidation tactic. My caller said he is based in Philippines. (The only oversea location they have seem to be in NZ). They acted very professional but don't let that fool you. Amounts owing seemed to always be between 250-300. I would be ecstatic if a 4 bedroom house electricity bill would be that cheap during winter. I would actually pay it if that was the case but it's not. They will offer credit card or BPAY payments. They will even try and be sympathetic, asking why you missed your payments (I spilled out a fake story of developing a heavy drug problem which lead me to prostituting myself and losing everything I loved). He just ignored it (how rude). I ask if they accept gift cards from Myers then offered monopoly money (apparently they do not accept either). We spoke for about 15 minutes until he finally gave up when I gave him a "credit card" number that contained alphabetic letters in it). He said he believed it was not a real card (oh really?!?) and then he hung up.
I've decided that I enjoy these calls as it gives me something to practice my improv skill.
I've also discovered that the more I mess around with them, the less frequent these types of calls have occurred, reducing from at least once a week to now once every 6 months.
I guess they have a do not call list.....

Constant calls from this number stating collection house, I have asked they send me a letter as I am not prepared to give my details to a caller without anything in writing and not knowing who the hell they are we all hear about identity theft this is how it happens so put it in writing fools

I got a call from them asking for more money than i owed so i rang the company and squared a payment plan with them.they Indian bitch that calls me several times a week is consistently rude and condescending. I informed her that i had made arrangements to pay off the remainder of my bill and she said that was unacceptable and required immediate full payment. I simply told her to jam her attitude, that I'll continue my current payment arrangement and hung up. f*ck them. They may initially be doing their jobs but that doesn't give them the right to be power hungry dogs.

Oh.. and you debt collectors can love your jobs all you like.
The fact you prey on people for money they possibly don't owe, and the fact you enjoy it makes you perfect for your blood sucking job.

I am sure I owe no money either. As previously stated by others, if I owed money - I would get a reminder from that company.
A few years ago I answered a call from Collection House regarding a telstra bill from 3 years ago that was never once questioned as unpaid or outstanding in all future bills, but suddenly it hasn't been paid.
I was immediately suspicious, checked my bills and there was nothing from Telstra ever chasing that bill as outstanding.
I called Telstra, and without looking into it - said it was outstanding - even tho I sent them 12 months of bills showing the bill was never outstanding. They still said I owed it - which tells me they ignore proof and prefer to sell 'dodgy' debts to Collection House.
Proof makes neither company money.
Very suspicious.
Where's a person's rights in that situation?
For under $300 I ended up paying the bill twice to make a problem go away.
Never again.

@financially healthy, pity the debt is for late video fees I told the store I would pay off and they declined my offer, and the debt is atleast 12years old, so they cant even collect it considering they've been neither able to confirm my phone number or address for atleast 10 years

I don't owe anyone any money and they've somehow got my phone number. I don't have any experience with collection agencies because I always pay my bills, but I have heard that collection agencies like this are just parasitic maggots. How did they get my number?

it all sounds a bit suss to me. They should be asking questions to verify who you are not sending a text message to get your attention. They should call, state who they are and proceed to tell you which supposed debt you have with them they are chasing. I asked them this and they hung up so avoid them. The only way they would give me the information was via mail, this was so they could get my address, more personal information. bugger that not with all the scams now.

Hmmmmm. That's a great way to look at it. When you get sued and your wages garnisheed, and you can no longer afford to pay your phone bill because all your money is taken by the court, your phone will be cut off. Then you will be safe from collectors who will no longer be able to call you to ask you to pay money you OWE!! Yep, very smart.

I have been receiving these calls on and off for about a year. When I last spoke I did not confirm who I was and simply said if you are genuinely acting you will put your claim in writing.
To date I have received nothing in writing and have been at the same address for 8 years.
If I owed money I am sure I would have received reminders from the service provider or person they are acting for prior to the matter going to a debt collector.
