I answered a call from this number, it was super distorted and they then hung up. My phone ID'ed the area as Bowral?

Same as everyone else. Knew my name, asked if I was the owner of a business called ....... Which was actually correct. So they possibly get the information from domain name registrations.
I asked who he was. He said Adam.
Then just hung up.
(I'm always fascinated that all telemarketers with accents have English names and then we are told we are biased against other races when we don't let them scam us).

Sounded like a foreign call centre. Knew my name, then dropped out. If I didn’t have a streaming cold I’d. Be worried about them using my name and “yes” for setting something up in my name. Called around 6pm 2 days in a row.

A Scam Call from Bowral. They called me multiple times, I picked up twice.
The first, they hung up.
The second, they explained they want to sell website design for "business expansion".

It is quite loud in the background, clearly a call center.

Spammer. Do NOT pickup. By picking up you tell the creeps you are willing to accept calls from anybody. Your number is onsold and then you will Really get called.

As per Sarah G comment, my phone also showed ‘Bowral’. I didn’t answer as I was travelling.

I answered and got a foreign woman who knew my name and then hung up. Tried to call back, with no success.

Received call from number when answered they hung up. Rang back immediately and received a 'fax tone' . Potential scammer

I just got a call from this number. It came from Bowral in NSW and since I don't know anybody there, I suspect it was a scam call of some sort. All I got was somebody asking if I was a certain person and when I responded it disconnected. I have blocked it now.

This number was a hang up when I answered. My iphone said it was a Bowral phone number. When I called the phone it was constantly engaged with busy tone.
