So these people kept calling my grandfather who is in Palliative Care. I called them back and they said from CBA and wouldn't give me any details even though I have power of attorney. I then called the CBA main number and they said we can see you have power of attorney and as far as we can see there are no issues with his account however they said that number is one of their numbers. So I have no idea haha

Had 3 calls from this number. All saying it is the Commonwealth Bank. The calls I have received in the past from Commonwealth Bank were not automated like this one. I will never answer any questions via an automated system.
The call I received today hung up part way through the automation blah blah blah.

CBA TRUTH FAIRY

CBA doesn’t have a centralised phone system, you could call your branch directly in a landline and complain about one of their products , it’s common knowledge it’s their lack of training and investment in its people, customers and products - the regent reigns in rorting, shortcuttong, gaslighting, and my favourite inertiaising all - many calls to and from the not recorded, not accountable, and frankly not giving a damn, a dime, a brass razoo, a naught a nothing and as my mother would say in a foul mood sweet FA! that sums up the CBA - of course an answering machine for the urgent call, we’re not worth the dine for some dame to answer - this is the most positive i could find, a dig deep, foul. mildew, CBA envelope scent…. it’s them they are the scammers

Definite scam call with the scammers saying they are CBA. CBA has CallerCheck feature via app https://www.commbank.com.au/support/security/callercheck.html
So either hang up or tell them to verify themselves.

I have never been a member of commbank, this is actually a scam and it is not a legit call. Yes people should question things like this and always contact the company directly to clarify

Do not give your details. These are scammers pretending to be CBA. They called did not leave a message. Then when you call back they ask you for your details.

If you are concerned look up the real comm bank number 13 222 1

If I was in the position to simply pay it, I would have and they wouldn't be calling.

Do not give any details!!
It’s a fake CBA, I’m sure I had no money owing yet I kept getting numerous calls from this number saying I had $691 owing… I believed them for a second as I lost hours at work a number or weeks ago and had to use overdraft on my account and wasn’t able to pay it back for a few weeks but a few days ago was able to pay the full amount back for the overdraft so was confused why I apparently owed the nearly $700 …. Called the REAL CBA and told them about the phone call and asked if I had anything owing and I don’t have anything owing and assured me that they call on a private number and definitely not from Newcastle like where that fake CBA was calling from. Be careful out there!

If it's from Com bank, they would email me or a notification to my internet banking inbox.
