Caller: Cold caller A cold call from someone saying that I completed a form (I never do this) and that I had a holiday package available to me (at a massive discount but otherwise the details were vague). This was not the number that they called from, but rather the number they told me that I should call to talk to their support organisation. When I did, I got an recorded or simulated female American voice saying the person I was trying to reach was not available and that I should leave a message. Obviously my call was not important enough for them to put me on hold.

Caller: East Coast Travel Scammers and scumbags. I fell for the 6 tokens offer and actually checked the accommodation I wanted was available and it all checked out fine. I should have woken up when the only way I could pay was to do an online transfer while the 'sales team member' waited for confirmation of payment. That's just dodgy. The offer of accommodation in exchange for tokens has so many T&Cs that you'd be unlikely to escape without some sort of surcharge on top of the initial outlay. When trying to cancel my booking some time later I rang the accommodation and they tell me that the booking was made through booking.com (which I could have done myself) and got a better deal. Their advertised number does not answer (what a surprise) - and I'm out of pocket some $$$ to ECT. Hang up on there bas**rds. They're crooks - pure and simple.

All the above comments explaining the methods of scamming used by this company are those I experienced. I too wasted quite a bit of their time as I did recognize the scam, however this scam is fairly sophisticated and those much less tech savvy could well be fooled by their web site with multiple pages even down to the page of terms and conditions. Be warned - all they really want is your credit card details.

Caller: Can't remember Unfortunately this is a scam. We fell for their accommodation package and signed up. Once they got our money ($1000), the conditions for actually getting a booking changed. Instead of being able to stay anywhere at anytime we were limited to a couple of options and it was hugely time consuming going back and forth with them (over email, with huge delays) to finalise somewhere. They actually did book us 2 nights somewhere but the penny dropped when we booked 3 nights interstate. The night before we were due to arrive (when we were already 1000 kms from home) they emailed saying the accommodation had fallen through. No options to rebook and they haven't answered phone or email since (they've obviously got us on their Do Not Answer list!) We've worked out (by ringing the accom) that they place their bookings through Booking.Com so when you ring to check if you're booked at a place (as we did, suspecting they were dodgy from the start) there you are, booked for those dates, under your name. But they they never pay, so Booking.Com cancels the booking 24 hours prior to arriving. Please, please, please do not sign up. I'm not sure how we even got the first 2 nights. Probably just to lull us into a false sense of security so it would be too far gone to get our money back. Any positive reviews on this site are obviously placed by the company. They have also now changed their phone number (probably running from all the callers who now realise they're a scam). I'm just hoping when people are thinking of joining they google East Coast Travel, get to this website and are saved the grief they caused us. When trying to figure out if they were legitimate or not, this is the only site we could find that even mentioned them so thank you reverse australia.
100% scam. Save yourself the pain and humiliation of being conned.

Caller: jake Albert They called me from another number but gave this one as customer care number. Said I’d filled out a form ( untrue) . Travel deals available only now and an email and invoice was sent. I smelled a rat so I asked them to verify their business. Sent me to ASIC site to check ECT business abn. Had authentic website but not able to be found easily (dodgy). High pressure to pay on the spot or deal would not be available. High pressure to upgrade. Dodgy as &$@?. Warning from friend in motel industry do not touch.

Cold call - I have been selected for super holiday package. Obviously taking random numbers from white pages as caller is calling my pseudonym name I use for white pages. Claims to be from ECT Travel, East Coat Travel, directed to www web page. Google search does not bring up anything of ECT Travel or East Coat Travel but the www:ecttravel.com.au takes to authentic looking web page.

Caller: Manly Travels aka East Coast Travels Was contacted by phone and offered tokens for $50 each to use at many locations across NSW and Australia. I purchased 12 tokens ($50 each). Booked 3 x nights accommodation, called the place of accommodation and they confirmed it had been booked and paid for. All seemed well until the night before I was contacted and was told that the accommodation was no longer available and that they (the scammers) wanted more money for the first night and we could still use the tokens for the 2nd and 3rd night...I soon realised I had been scammed! Was informed I would get my money back, though they don't answer when I call...

Caller: Zack , Rachael, Sam I booked through ECT 2 venue's, 1 in Newcastle, the other in Melbourne. Both bookings were confirmed by ECT telling me that a deposit had been paid. They use a 3rd party to make these bookings. Supposedly the voucher l purchased and paid $998.99, which was deducted from my bank account immediately. On the day of my arrival at Newcastle ETC contacted me and wanted my card details so they could reimburse me for accommodation. I cantacted venue and was told accommodation had been cancelled then rebooked. I chose to stay elsewhere as l didn't trust them to refund my money. The Melbourne trip was the same, no deposit paid and no tokens used for booking. ECT contacted me again wanting my bank details so they could reimburse me the $187 . I called Sam?? out on what had o accurred in regards Newcastle, no comment by him. I was told my refund would be in my bank within 5 working days, that was on the 6th October. So far no money has been refunded, they have given me absolutely no service what so ever for my initial funds of $998.99 . They argue constantly with you about their honesty and legitimacy of ECT. They are a fraudulent, lying bunch of narcissists. They are a scam, don't trust these lying frauds. They continually want your bank details for refunds, don't give it to them.

Caller: Someone saying they were from EVT I had the same experience 2 days ago as Anonymous 14/7/23z Dude called Danny Parker, but Indian put high pressure sales tactics on me and I paid almost $519 to them, the worst is once they had my credit card details multiple hits were made to take $204.95 from my credit card to buy cash cards. Thankfully my bank spotted this and only one lot of funds were taken not including the $519 I paid the bastards, I’m an older retired pensioner and I bought the tokens to thank my children for all that they do for me. I feel like an idiot!

Caller: unknown then he transferred me to Danny I can not find a single review on these people. I asked about their reviews, took me to accommodation property reviews but had nothing to show their supposed travel company reviews. The only review was a lowly 5/100 for legitimacy from a scam locater website saying to avoid. Danny from ECT ran me 13x in one afternoon trying to get me to buy discount coupons. Definitely better off going through bookings.com ext. The caller sounded Indian /Pakistani, talked very fast, was pushy & almost impossible to understand. Scam & disappointment from these folk, stay away.
