Caller: Coles MasterCard I double checked the number with coles financial services website. It is coles and they are genuine but as I only use my card to pay a mobile phone bill once a month it’s a mystery how my details were hacked. All ok now but still concerned about coles / Citibank security.

Caller: Citibank - Virgin Money This is a legitimate number calling from the our Credit Card's Security Centre with regard to some credit card number hacking, which occurred at a merchant using a Visa Card gateway.
They wanted to cancel one of our cards. We double checked and confirmed the details directly with our card's provider and all was correct.
So, it is not a scam number. But we didn't give them any information or agree to any action until we verified the details.

Have had 3 missed calls from this number over last 2 days. Caller left no message. This rings alarm bells in my mind. Had a call over a week ago and the female stated that it was Citibank and that my card had been 'compromised'. The female stated that a new card would be sent to my home address. She did not ask for any ID or request card no. or digits on back. Indian accent. Hard to understand. No card yet and it has been a week. Still using current card and no suspicious transactions.
