Caller: Citibank Genuine. Received a message. Called the number listed on their website and they said they blocked my card and had all my information. Citibank does things in a strange way and their call centres are overseas so it can seem like a scam.

They are persistent scammers, I don't have or ever applied for a credit card in any form, once you block this number they call using another similar number, they call at any time of day and any day of week, don't leave message and can't ring them back

Caller: First Caller Susan, 2nd Caller Not sure Regarding my Credit Card Call application. 1st caller said all I need is payslip. Which I uploaded on e-mail link. I was asked by the caller "the month of my birth" and the first letter of my Mother's maiden name. I gave that.
Next day the second caller - wanted the DL and bank statement. Before that for identification asked "date of birth" and mother's maiden name. I am expecting a third call.... I am pretty sure the caller will ask for "year of birth" and the spelling of my mother's name! Sounds like phishing to me!
The e-mail link says application submitted (cannot upload any more supporting docs). Why they didn't ask in the first place! E-mail address to send is supporting docs to newca1 @ citi.com. I am not sending it. The e-mail address is not in citibank website.
Phone call to 13 24 84 tells me to check my status with mobile phone #, automated voice says no application!
Sounds all dodgy will give it a pass...and block the 02 8027 200

Listened to message left, very faint, couldn't hear or make out whether they were speaking English or not, in the message left. Believe that this is a scammer.

Caller: Citibank Genuine call from Citibank. I got a voicemail from the number asking to call back about a security issue with my Citibank account. Called Citibank directly instead who confirmed it was them.

Caller: credit card security i didn't answer but after looking at this site I rang the number on the back of my credit card and yes they had just tried to call me (at 7pm) because of suspicious activity. I blocked my card and was issued a new one. I am grateful to the posts on this site that advised doing that.

Caller: They claim they are from virgin credit card Left a message asking me to call back. Absolute stupid call. Why do they waste everyone's time? Some kind of prank or outright criminals.

A legit call, Citibank operates on behalf of lots of credit card brands so if you have a cr card or applied for one it will be them chasing up more info, or they want to tell you something or sell you some extra product like a loan.

I missed their call but this will be Citibank, calling on behalf of VirginMoney as I applied for a credit card from them. They usually call to follow up the application. I don't think its a scam as they have done this before.
