The caller said he is from the ATO and I have been reported for tax avoidance and unless I call back I will be summoned by the local district court.... what a joke...since when do we have district legal system??... the caller spoke in "foreign" american accent and named himself Alexander Lee... this is definitely a corny scam...... the ATO will issue a written notice on all taxation issues, not making calls like this.... b*st*rd!

Answering machine message, same as up thread, except the message also says "you're getting this message even if your number is silent or on the National Do Not Call register" definitely suss.

I just got a call from pretend ATO, the guy named Alexander Lee. The recorded message doesn't even sound like recording.What I would say is get a real job.

I had an "Alexander Lee" call my work with the same as above, that he is from the ATO and our company is under tax fraud and tax avoidance and to call back immediately. The number looked dodgy so I googled and found this page. SCAM.

Had a message saying I was wanted for tax evasion and that I have a warrant out for my arrest. Definitely a SCAM. I reported it to scam watch.
