We will be going to Telstra, TIO and also possibly Police. The reason why is we bought a pre-paid data plan to use in a Phone as a Data point while we waited for our nbn connection.
That Phone was not used for anything other than Data point, one of our Mobiles was used as a reference, when we bought the prepaid sim.
Both that Pre-paid phone and the Mobile had text messages sent to them not long after activation, saying that we had subscribed to 3 different places. We unsubscribed immediately. The Pre-aid kept getting messages saying it couldn't charge as it was a pre-paid.
Now to understand why we are so angry and that we know this to be a scam, is that the Data point (pre-paid Phone) was not used for anything other than 'A Data Point
' it wasn't used stand alone, It sat in a corner plugged into power Untouched..
We wll be handing this phone over to the TIO and Police if need be for evidence.
What we believe has occurred is Telstra has passed on our Information to the 3 third parties when we purchased the pre-paid sim card

I received 2 messages on separate days, I unsubscribed, hoping I didn't need to do this twice . I did not subscribe to anything in the first place. If you add up all the $15 charges , it must amass to a fortune . How can I stop this from recurring ?

My husband intentionally or perhaps unintentionally per mobile phone, subscribed to this 'site or sites' which to unsubscribe you rang the number Bobby has given above. On checking this out I found that is was : igirlsmobivillage.com.au igirls.au @ buongiono.com sites I consider strippers and sex sites. A cost of $5.99 pw is noted and apparently Telstra will bill @ $15.00 per month as they consider the site a legit site. Seems to me a good idea would be to check out any site prior to clicking OK and do a scam check. Not difficult to do. Directed at the weaker sex. You know who you are.
