Numbers you BLOCK will hear the following message; CALLS TO THIS NUMBER ARE BEING MONITORED BY TELSRA GUARDIAN; THE PERSON YOU ARE TRYING TO CONTACT IS NOT ACCEPTING YOUR CALLS, SO PLEASE HANG UP.
People you place in your contacts list will get through as usual but anyone with a private / withheld number or a number that is not in your contacts list will hear this message; CALLS TO THIS NUMBER ARE BEING MONITORED BY TELSRA GUARDIAN; PLEASE STATE YOUR NAME AND THEN PRESS # AND WE WILL CONNECT YOUR CALL. You will then have the option of either accepting or rejecting the call.

Steps to remove your number from their system.
Call the number back, wait for someone to talk to.
Ask where they got your number from.
Then ask for your number to be removed.
They will delete your number or add it to their do not calls list.
(It's likely you gave your number to a charity and they have called using that number).

Just phoned them back & chose customer service menu option - spoke to lovely girl who added my number to their do not call internal database. It's a company called Apple Marketinh

Extremely annoyed. They phone non-stop. AND they TALK NON-Stop. Does not give me time to respond.

Leaves no messages, keeps calling several times, saying that its a charity call etc. etc.
What would all that add up to ? Yes ! S+C+A+M !

Never answer these calls, let it go to answer machine, no message left. Wouldn't you think they would give up, after weeks of no answers??

I called back to (07) 5657 0894 and told them someone had called me from their number. She said we are charity marketers and it would be nothing to worry about. I asked her to take my number off their list and she agreed with no hesitation. She matched my number with my name and address (both residence and post office box). She said it would take a few days to remove it as I had donated to quite a few charities -- and did I want to remove my number from them all? Yes please. I give a monthly amount to Medicins Sans Frontieres - and my government keeps them supplied with patients.

Charity fund raising company - have called me 3 times in the past week.

Was getting very annoyed by all the nuisance calls I was receiving, up to 10 a day from, telemarketing, charities, surveys, holidays, calls from India (re computers) etc. Then I saw the comment from "Mark 23 July 2016" decided to take the advice and purchased the phone from Telstra ..... Wow!! what a difference, have had no nuisance calls in the last week ..... Thanks

just leave them on the line, and totally ignore them, and let them finish, and when they get to ask you a question, they will THEN realise they were wasting their time.....this stops them calling back. :)

Missed call from this Queensland number ..it was a silenced call so missed it all together.. now blocked

The continue to call me twice a day, but they call disconnnects every time I answer. I decided to call the number back, and reached a voicemail message telling me their office is closed for Christmas until 16 January. It seems someone forgot to turn off the autodialler before going on holidays, so this will tarnish the reputation of any charities they are representing.

When I answered the phone and announced myself, there was a short silence then call disconnected.
