Caller: also supposedly from NAB a text message talking about fraud and when i called the bank from a landline, and went through the id process, they stated my card had not been blocked and that they could not see any fraudulent use of my card. My concern is that when you have security sms enabled, it comes from unknown mobile numbers as well. I agree with the other comments that scamming wont work unless we are directed to the scammer, either via website, email or possibly calling the mobile number back directly and then being asked for personal details, so not sure on this one.

Caller: Text from NAB I received a text at 2.30am from 0447 153 051 saying “we noticed some suspicious activity on your NAB Visa and we’re worried it wasn’t you. As a precaution, we placed a block on the card”. It was 100% legit. I had tried, the day before, unsuccessfully, to purchase something online only to be told not possible. Very glad NAB has such a good security system. It probably saved me some dollars!

Caller: National Australia Bank Definitely not suspicous or a scam. This call is about fraudulent activity on a NAB credit or debit card. If the call is not answered, a message is left to call NAB on 132265 which is the contact number for National Australia Bank. Call the number, press "2" and say "fraud assist". For me, this was a life saver. NAB cancelled my debit card because it had been used fraudulently, then arranged fro my credit card to be used as a debit card. I am very grateful.

Got a text message saying my account was put on hold, the number they list (13 22 65) is the actual NAB number, if it was a scam it would've been a website instead.

Received a call from a private number, ignored it, got a voice message, an indian accent voice saying "my name", and then that he is National something Bank (couldn't understand him well) but i assume NAB, and that there detected some weird activety on my card ending with .... and that they temperory blocked it. then got a text from this number saying similar things and to call "a number" that looks slightly similar to the NAB number but isn't, and the same for overseas number and the message wasn't even completed, it was cut off at the end and only say opti instead of option. so my guess is it is a scam.

Caller: NAB Fraud Assist Legit. I received a text message from NAB about some fraudulent transaction on my credit card, and they gave a phone number to ring. I went to the NAB web site and searched for that number, and saw it was legit, so I rang it.

Caller: NAB Hi, Rebecca again. I just got off the phone from NAB (called the fraud number advised on their website, not the text, just to be careful), and it was legitimate.
I checked online first to see if there had been any transactions, but there weren't any. I was suspicious because of this, but one of my cards was missing from my internet banking options so I did make the time to call them.
Turns out someone had tested to see if the account was active by making a $0 withdrawal, which is why it didn't show up in transactions. I destroyed my card and they are issuing me with a new one in 3 days. It's actually really awesome to know they look out for this kind of stuff. So this phone number seems to be legitimate, or rather the instance the text was alerting me about was. So to be careful you can just call NABs official numbers on their website, just in case.

Caller: Complex Scam or NAB? This message *might* be a complex scam. I've copied what they sent me below. The first national number they request I call is real (it's on NAB's website here: https://www.nab.com.au/business/payments-and-merchants/talking-shop/minimise-credit-card-fraud).
The second (international), however, is linked with similar negative reviews online, so I'm not sure what to make of it (you can read reviews here: https://www.tellows-au.com/num/(03) 8436 7200).
I've haven't received any messages from NAB otherwise. Be them via email, website message, or letter. I'll be calling NAB's official fraud line tomorrow, and hopefully come back here with an update.

Caller: 0447 153 051 I just received a blocked card message from the same number, 0447 153 051. The 1300 number listed to call is not the same number that NAB lists for lost, stolen or to block a call. Determined this after logging in to y NAB account (after it was supposedly blocked).

This is most definitely a scam. I got a message about suspicious online banking activity.
I DO NOT even have an NAB bank account, so online activity is absolutely impossible.

Got the same message at 11:30pm on a Sunday night. Checked my statements and nothing suspicious that I can see, strange that it suspended at this time though. Definitely not a scam as I tried to make an online purchase to see if it was a scam and the payments declined, so now I've got to call first thing in the morning. Was using it 2 hours ago for work.

Caller: NAB - internet banking So I received the txt message from this number regarding suspicious activity. The Fraud assist operator was automatically interested in my credit card and after some discussion regarding some transfers I had made this day it was in fact related to internet banking not credit card. My account was temporarily suspended. This will happen while anything suspicious is being investigated.

Caller: Supposedly NAB regarding suspected fraudulent action on my card. The number that was given to ring is for telephone banking which I don’t have a password for. I can find no suspicious activity on my card.

Same NAB 'suspicious activity' message. Why did the last comment say this was not a scam?? Is this lowlife trying to extend the scam here? I really worry that such messages go to my elderly parents.
