If you are a Telstra landline customer & want to block nuisance calls like this one, you now have the option of buying a phone from the Telstra Shop that can do this. The phone itself costs $48 and is well worth the investment. Numbers you BLOCK will hear the following message; CALLS TO THIS NUMBER ARE BEING MONITORED BY TELSTRA GUARDIAN; THE PERSON YOU ARE TRYING TO CONTACT IS NOT ACCEPTING YOUR CALLS, SO PLEASE HANG UP.
People you place in your contacts list will get through as usual but anyone with a private / withheld number or a number that is not in your contacts list will hear this message; CALLS TO THIS NUMBER ARE BEING MONITORED BY TELSTRA GUARDIAN; PLEASE STATE YOUR NAME AND THEN PRESS # AND WE WILL CONNECT YOUR CALL. You will then have the option of either accepting or rejecting the call.

Just trying to pay the bills while studying

As someone who used to work for a company like this, reading everyones comments I thought Id save you all some time and hassle;
1) if you dont want to do the survey then just politely say sorry I dont want to participate, if you say something like not today then the employees are required to call you back on the off chance u may want the call another day.
2) dont be rude, most of the time the people you are talking to or yelling at are just students trying to pay bills while theyre at uni.
3) the do not call register only applies to people selling things, please read the terms when you sign up for it
4) if you dont answer you will continue to get called, the employees dont see how many times youre being called and dont know how many times this is and dont choose who they call or the times they have to call, theyre just turning up for a shift theyve been told to work.

They are people too...

I always google unknown numbers that ring me, and its often very interesting. Then I enter them in my phone under Junk Mail and know not to answer next time.

I Am The Law

What kind of excuse is that "we are students or people trying to make a living" to Waterboard people hiding under "Market Research"? Those that are working for Market Research are just as Evils as the Drive that drives the Bank Robber to rob a Bank. Market Research are not Above the Law and is not an Excuse to Annoy people and demand to be respected and not be screamed at. If you work for a Market Research that abuses the Loophole you do NOT have the right to be respected under the Law. Criminals like the Market Research and those "students" that works for them can't claim Self Defence when Annoying people. People that are Annoyed can claim Self Defence if they drive a truck into the Market Research offices and run over the "students" working for the Evil Market Research.

In reply to "Angry wants to drive inside the call centres" - Ascot Vale & "I am the Law" - Ascot Vale - clearly you have PLENTY OF TIME ON YOUR HANDS & definitely unhinged - judging by your insane messages left on this forum. Enough time to PICK THE PHONE up & request not to be called again. People LIKE YOU are more annoying (& dare I say dangerous) than the Telemarketers. Do you re-read before you post??? I'm confused why this forum posts such disturbing comments........get a life yourself - perhaps????

This page is incorrect - the number belongs to a survey company called I-view: (http://www.iview.com.au/contact.aspx?sid=howto)
Email them on enquiries @ iview.com.au
or fax them on (03) 9940 7739 & jam up THEIR system

Had a call from this number on my mobile phone. I answered but no-one spoke!! I'm supposing that it was one of those "test" calls made by a computer system where if you answer at 6pm today, a person will call you again at 6pm tomorrow. They are a bloody nuisance & I don't care who they are, what they want, what their cause is or what their circumstances are - after reading other posts, the answer is simple - if they don't want people to be rude to them, DON"T CALL!!!!!!

They always seem to ring on middle of our family dinner. A very polite f*ck Off works well. Although I did try ask the young lady for her home number so that I could ring her continuously at dinner time but she wouldn't. So I think f*ck Off is definitely best.
Get a real job we don't need this sh*t

I'm shocked by the downright c*nty-ness expressed by individuals over a phone call. Seriously? Get over it, pick up the phone and ask (politely if you can put your ego aside) and they probably won't call again, the effort really isn't that much. And to criticise uni students that are just trying to pay the bills cos I don't know if you noticed but IT'S GODDAMN HARD TO GET A JOB FOR SOME PEOPLE so if it meant you work in a call centre over starving to death, what would you choose?

Theres actually an even easier way for you to avoid calls from this number, block it from your phone... Google it instead of googling threads you can post your sh*tty opinion on

Ive received 4 calls from them in the last 2 days, no message. I googled the number and read Harry's message above where he named the company as http://www.iview.com.au/contact.aspx?sid=howto
I looked up the Melbourne company details, called and spoke to a polite gentleman asking that they please take my number off their list. He was obliging and said no problem. Be polite when you call. They are just doing a job even though we find it annoying.

'Just trying to pay the bills while studying'....are you for real????? People are complaining about scammers!!!!!! You know, SCAMMERS...... they are not people, they are animals!!! Trying to rob innocent people of their hard earned money. Tele marketers you can tell them you are not interested, and in most cases they will not ring you back. Scammers??? Not so!!!!

Had this number call my work today, the lady told me they are "calling on behalf of an Australian Government Business centre to speak about telecommunications and internet providers", she wanted to speak to the person who was in charge of our telecommunications and internet providers, i told her they weren't available and asked if i could take her number for us to call them back. She said no they would try again later, we have been taught at work, if they wont give you their number to call them back on then we don't waste our time with them. Luckily we have caller ID so I will tell her politely next time we are not interested. Also i thought it was strange that she said "on behalf of an Australian Government Business" but did not name the business she was calling on behalf of.

Thanks to everyone for these comments on the number, been having these number calling me recently, and yeah. Since I live in Vic, house numbers don't show the area code when I receive a phone call, so good thing I searched the number and found here!

Hey you TL, you yourself will get a Life in the Psychiatric Hospital with those sympathizers of ISIS one of these days when the LAW finds out where you are Hiding. You really needs Electric Shocks in the Mental Hospital to find out why people should pick up the phone and request not to be called. Anyway if you have been reading the comments left here, those Annoying Phone Terrorists never answer the phone when they are called back because their phone is disengaged, perhaps they have something to hide for refusing to pick up the phone when they are called. The Ambulance really needs to crush into your house and take you to the Mental Hospital immediately to do brain scanner and inject you with Medication because the Life that you have is really F***ED UP being a sympathizers of of those Criminals Telemarketers and Research Centers collecting Charity Money when the real Charities never gave them permission to annoy people in the first place.
