I have been getting calls every night now for the past week, normally around 7pm. Today I answered and they asked me for my address and date of birth......I didn't give it to them and the girl on the phone couldn't even tell me who Baycorp were.

Yeh i'm havin a ball with them, same old debt with telstra, but i have telstra services, and if i owed telstra anything i wouldn't have internet, home phone, mobile phone and foxtel, so now, once a week i call them, go through the verification process, then i just say your f*cking scum and f*ck off, they keep calling i sometimes say i'm mr fukoff, they still don't get, very poor broken english, so they say who? i say Mr f*ckoff, they say can you spell please? i say ok mr f*ck OFF and hang up. check out the Baycorp website, no ABN to be seen, it's a scam for sure and the way they get around australian law is they don't operate in Australia, say you have an old unpaid Telstra bill, and you have a dispute with the bill and you don't pay it, Baycorp come along after a while and buys the debt, Telstra then wipe the debt off with the $5.00 they buy it for, because the debt has not yet reached the 6 year statute of limitations they act as a debt collector company, they say they are acting on behalf of Telstra when the fact is the debt has been written off and legally they have no leg to stand on and when they go to get prosecuted the law can't get them, Phillipines are corrupt to the core, everyone's corrupt and you can't walk down the street in Manilla without some monkey trying to scam you. That's who Baycorp is. I'm waiting for them to come knocking at my door so i can smash some skulls, i'm that pissed off with them. Don't pay it and when they call have some fun with them, looking to thhe next call scum!!!

Yes,

Baycorp have external collections of the ATO, also baycorp work inside the ATO as part of their "early intervention" recoveries agents.

This business has been calling me for months and we are in a stand off. They won't tell me what they want unless I provide personal information. I won't provide personal information when they won't even tell me what they want. Their website is registered to BAYCORP (AUST) PTY LIMITED - ABN 16086072004 so it looks like they are a legitimate debt collection agency only I have no debt so they probably have the wrong number. I've logged a complaint with the ACCC so we'll see if that does anything.

I kept getting phone calls from this company"Baycorp" saying that someone owed me money. They would try and convince me to hand over personal details so that they could transfer me the funds that I'm owed. Obviously I believed this to be scam as no one owed me money and ignored their calls.
Recently I had a credit report done. I have never had a loan or a credit card and I've always paid my bills on time. To my surprise there was a mark against my name from them for an "outstanding amount of $0"
Furious, I contacted them to find out what is going on. They again asked me for personal details (including my credit file and a color copy of my license) so that they can resolve the issue.
These people are scam artists. If you're receiving persistent phone calls with them harassing you I recommend you read the below article

Baycorp is a nasty collection agency without any respect of privacy or human rights. They are changing phone numbers and when calling you, they will give you wrong email address to the complaint department. All of it is for the purpose; because if you wish to reply with your explanation your email will bounce back therefore they will keep ringing and demanding the payment and your name will be eventually registered under defaulted credit rating. This company is buying debtors list from other businesses and institutions trying to recover all money even if it is not legitimate debt. They will not try to resolve it because they have already purchased the "stock", yes for them you are the "stock". Every problem solved; for them is a loss on the investment so they will try all sorts of tricks to get money from you (even if you don't owe). This company should be investigated by the authorities and Australian legal system. I'm sure the Baycorp process of recovery is not performed under the code of conduct, they focus is on the money only not resolution. ACCC SHOULD BE NOTIFIED.

I received a new number from Telstra, 2 days later I received calls from Baycorp asking to speak to someone with a very foreign name. I told them my real name and explained that this was a new number, they said they will not call me again. 7 months later I am receiving calls each week from them asking for the same person, again I explain the situation and am told we will not call again. Called me again, i have threatened legal action due to harassment and they say they've only called twice in seven months. 9 times in one month is not twice 😡 I also was told i can block their number, funny that as they call me on so many numbers 😡

Hi Ian. I don't know what kind of phone you have but on mine under "phone" there should be a "more" in the upper right hand corner beneath the pre-installed clock. tap on that;
go to Settings, under call settings tap on Call Blocking then Block list, which helps manage the calls that you have chosen to block from coming in to your phone.
After you've pressed on Block List, if you don't have to add the phone number in manually, and I'm assuming you don't, you should be able to add it to Blocked Calls. hope this helps.

These bastards keep calling me everyday sometimes up to 5 times per day! Its the same lady who calls every time too. I still refuse to give them my personal details they wont tell me anything until i "start by confirming my date of birth and address" it sounds like a massive scam. I just ignore all the private calls that come up on my mobile now because i know its them. I wish I could lodge an official complaint about these calls

I’ve been getting phone calls, emails, text msg and letters in the mail from these people for couple of years now, asking for my nephew to contact them. If it’s that damn important and they’ve found my number I’m sure they can find his details and harass him. Although he’s done nothing wrong I know, and he lives in another state to me. So sick of this harassment constantly.

Hi all,
I too get these calls and have been getting them for some time. Very annoying.
But, I have noticed a change in their tactics. They are trying to get me to say "yes" on the phone. Apparently they record the phone call and insert me saying "yes" into a recorded contract. You can tell when they are doing this when they also start with "can you confirm that you can hear me" question. I agree with the earlier posts, just hang up. I did lodge a call with Telstra and had the num ber blocked but they are obviously using other numbers.

If you have the same name and year of birth as somebody Baycorp is after, or even if you have the same name as the friend/relative/partner/spouse of the person that Baycorp is trying to find - then unfortunately your likely to get calls from Baycorp - until you explain to them that your not the person that they are looking for. Please understand that many people with debts, hide from Baycorp - so it can be very challenging trying to locate a person. So if you get a call and you don't have a debt, all you need to do is politely explain that your not the person that they are trying to find, or your not in someway related to the person that they are trying to find.

I got a call from this number today from a woman claiming to be Baycorp. I decided to act as if I was my mom and told her that my severely autistic daughter couldn't possibly have done something like this, to "leave her the hell alone" and before she could say one more word I hung up and this number at least has been blocked.
