Possible scam. Female Indian-accented voice claiming to be the Crash Investigation Unit. Asking to confirm a member of our family back-ended another vehicle recently. No-one at our address!

Stop ringing Australia. We don't like being harassed over the phone by SCAMMERS. Do something honest & get some good Karma.

The usual Indian female. Blow an old fashion postmans whistle in the phone, hangup and block the number on your phone

I call this number back and it says that it is disconnected by Optus, so how can it possibly call me??

Female Indian scammer from some false Insurance company calling regarding $8700 from a previous accident I know nothing about. She asked to speak to me using my surname, I said she is not here and she wanted a name of my family member. I said you are a SCAMMER AND HUNG UP.

She called last week as well but when I heard the Indian accent I hung up without hesitation.

I think this was scam. Indian accent, male, claiming to be from Crash Investigation and investigating a claim for $8500 that is outstanding from our address. They wanted details so that they could pay us. Hmmmm! No one here has been in an accident. He had my whole name, and I asked him where he had gotten my name from. He didn't answer. After I kept saying " I don't know what you're talking about" he apologised, said there must be some mistake, and hang up.

Had a call last night from this number - female Indian accent - asking if we had an accident in 2014 - we hadn't so hung up.... They are still out there!!!

Big time SCAM! Don't bother with them!

7.15pm -Female Indian-accented voice claiming to be the Accident Investigation Unit in Sydney. Asking to confirm a member of our family had a motor vehicle accident in the past two days. I asked her if she had a police report of the accident and she hung up.

call was received 6.57pm with the accent regarding car accident & compensation totally incorrect. Ignore this type of call.

Thanks for the heads up, I googled the number when it came up and didn't take the call.

Yeah, scum-bag Indians. I normally like people from India, but not these dregs. Nor do I like Australians who adopt the same tactics, and I'm an Aussie.

Indian accent female claiming some one from my address had been i accident, and need to receive full amount of compensation. Scam, I told her it is scam and she hang up.

Another time waster and overseas scamming mob! Yes, their excuse is insurance but their accents make it too obvious! Also calling on (02) 8091 6353. Don't be sucked in, we must become more and more aware that third-world money-making scams are still flooding the marketplace of first world countries, and they are extremely persevering!

Same Indian accent, same scam. When asked to send an email with details, insisted she had to complete this "verification call". When I read to her the result of the ReverseAustralia search, describing her as a scammer, she said "don't believe that" and hung up.

I was never going to provide any info, but still... Thank you ReverseAustralia!

Indian voice with a strange surname, they seem to be going for eastern European names which is a nice twist (sarcasm).

Saying they were from a claims department, when i asked questions they hung up. They know your number and address so don't be fooled by the fact that know this, its easy enough to look up.

It's the same scam going. Why don't the police do something?

I put my number onto this sites list and that has stopped all these type of calls.
