This is a tax scam number. Do not call back. An automated message saying you have a warrant out for arrest for tax avoidance.

Here's the whole message: Im calling you from ato australian taxation office. The nature and purpose of this call to let you know that there is a legal lawsuit is against your name as there is a known available warrant has gone issued against you by the ato. Its concerning your tax fraud, so we need some further information regarding your case file i want you to call me back as soon as possible. The number you can reach me which is (02) 6064 2039. Im going to repeat my number (02) 6064 2039. Dont disregard this message, the matter is very serious and time sensitive. Something something something unknown...Im going to repeat my number (02) 6064 2039. Goodbye and have a pleasant day.

Please share. Warning to all I received a Scam/Fraud call from this number (02) 6064 2039 at 9.30ish. Man left a voice message, (with an Indian accent), stating that they were calling from the ATO and we had a warrant for tax fraud. I was aware of this scam. I returned the call informing them I knew this was not the ATO and will be reporting him to authorities. The ATO number to report this is 1800 008 540. Please remember to do this!
I then got another message, same as first an hour later. Called same number back informed them that reported to ATO already, to cease all contact. His response was he was going to "f" me, "f" my family and "f" the Federal Authorities, and much worse then hung up!

I have a mentally disabled Friend that fears these repeated phone calls,
It took a lot of effort from those around him to convince him
that is a scam !

I am not 100% convinced that he will heed our warnings.

Just writing to say that this scam is still happening, just received a call.

I have been receiving repeated calls over the past week to my home phone and mobile with messages left to call (02) 6064 2039 and (02) 9099 5771. Very similar messages left on both. Quite distressing even though I know it is a scam.

then 31st may same call 2 times a hour apart the an hour latter another saying that police in local arrear have been issued with an warrant for my arrest and to avoid this I need to call a Jason O'Connor from the ATO on (02) 8607 5060 on voice mail pressed op. to recall caller which Identified the number as 0186075060 being identified as the number the call originated. from these call continued up to 4 times a day an hour a part every day from the last mentioned call above on the 31st May till the 7th June during this time the all calls went through to home voice mail so I was able to spend time comparing the calls. the calls on the 27th may was a differ voice to that on the 31st may. the two numbers had a different voice but all were defiantly recorded messages left on voice mail. though both were of voices that sounded sub continental (India) though they were well rehearsed trying to sound Irish. would have been funny if it was not so serious.

Had a third call today about this scam, this time asking me to ring "Matt" (with heavy Indian accent) on (02) 6064 2039 about tax fraud and a federal warrant for arrest being issued. Reported it once again to the ATO and alerted ScamWatch.

With all the new powers given to federal authorities, and the telephone numbers being used, I'm somewhat surprised that this bunch of scammers hasn't been stopped before now.

Just had 2 calls in one day from someone at this number (02) 6064 2039, left messages on my answering machine, heavy accent, very difficult to understand, very insistent that I needed to contact them regarding Tax Fraud, however didn't say my name. Very concerned for vulnerable people who don't think to check it out before ringing back...

How on earth this clearly dodgy recorded message can continue to intimidate unsuspecting victims, unabated for months without immediate action by so called govt intelligence aka law enforcers- is F'N beyond me.

Phoned this morning and tried it on me. I said thank you & hung up. This afternoon he has tried again & left a message with the whole ATO story. Indian accent. Quite concerning this is still happening.

They really don't like it when you ask for their name and keep repeatedly calling them :(

I don't know why people get scared or worried by these idiot calls. Anyone with half a brain knows they are scams. Just delete - don't waste a phone call by calling the ATO
